1st album I bought in years besides albums as gifts. I've listened to it only a few times so I'm sure my opinion might change, but I overall like the album. 4/5

This album can be categorized like Kanye West's album 808 and heartbreaks. Depressing but good production and decent lyrics, (Just minus out the synthesizer).

1. "I Can Transform Ya"(feat. Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz)3:48 - The beat is good and different. I think it's why he chose it as his first single. Track is 4/5.

2. "Sing Like Me" 4:15 - This whole song is based on Rhianna. About how he had a girl that sang like him. I honestly didn't like it at first but it grew on me. 3/5

3. "Crawl" 3:56 - One of the best tracks on the album. Love the lyrics, beat, and how he sings it. 5/5.

4. "So Cold" 3:38 - I'm thinking this is his 3rd single. I like it. Depressing, but I like it. 5/5

5. "What I Do" (feat. Plies) 4:00 - This is a party track. Talking about throwing $ everywhere. Not necessarily my choice of lyrics but a decent single if he releases it. 3.5/5

6. "Famous Girl" 3:39 - The production and the way he sings it makes it sound like something I've heard before. I cant think of the artist, but it reminds me of the Fray or some band like that. Don't really like it too much. 3/5

7. "Take My Time"(feat.Tank)4:38 - This to me sounds sounds like genuwine singing "BED" by J. Holiday. I like the track. He's singing about taking his time in bed, obviously. Now that I think about it, it reminds me of Dru Hill/Sisqo too. 4/5

8. "I.Y.A." 3:08 - In Your Arms. He's talking about wanting to sleep in a girls arms. Rhianna? I dunno. A pussy track. But a good one at that. It's my sisters favorite song on the album. 5/5

9. "Pass Out" (feat. Eva Simons) 3:53 - THIS SONG would go nice in like a rave. The beat actually reminds me of Casey's NeoFunk. I LOVE IT. This track is like Forever pt.2. 5/5
*Side note, Casey, you gotta work on this beat.

10. "Wait"(feat. Trey Songz & Game)4:30 - This beat is insane imo. It's a track about 3 guys talking about sex. Trey songs is the fucking man. 5/5

11. "Lucky Me" 5:10 -I think he samples something. I can't put my finger on it. It's not a single nor is it a stand out track. But its good for what it is. 4/5

12. "Fallin Down" 4:10 - Chorus is okay. Decent song but another song about how he feels so bad about not being w/ Rhianna. 3/5

13. "I'll Go" 3:05 - There really isn't much of a beat. Chorus is very weird but it works. Shit sounds me of Lenny Kravitz or Prince type of shit for some reason. 5/5

13 tracks for $13. It gets the money worth imo.

Because a lot of this album was recorded before the whole Rihanna thing, I'm guessing, it doesn't have a lot on his take on what happened and everything, does it?

I'm guessing his next album will be like Rihanna's current album?

Thanks for the review.

He doesn't give insight. Maybe he will later on. But I think he's staying true to his word about keeping it private between the two, even though she doesn't.

It took me like 2 minutes to figure out it was a Chris Brown album.

You haven't bought an album in years and you buy THIS?

WOW.
yah dude. I've been broke for years and i only buy shit if i like EVERY single...and I thought everyone knew his album title. haha.

This album should be banned for two main reasons.

1. He used the Purple Rain font for his album cover. Nobody is allowed to use the Purple Rain font except Prince.

2. He's holding a guitar on the album cover when he doesn't play the fucking guitar. This is the most douchebaggiest thing that any artist could ever do. What next? Photoshoots with him holding a violin? Bassoon?> Oboe? upright double bass? GTFO

Besides that, the music sucks, it's all generic mid-tempo garbage with limited subject matter.

As for you mentioning me and my sound....no. Just no. That "Pass Out" track is a mess and is nothing like my sound.

I suggest you listen to this, since Brown ripped it off from this song - a popular dance track:

LOL this shit is getting trashed left and right by every media outlet.

This one is especially hilarious

Most of Graffiti -- that is, the songs that do not detail what ex-girlfriend Rihanna and the rest of the world have done to him -- is a natural progression for Chris Brown. Like many young cred-seeking male singers who have just exited their teenage years, Brown clumsily emphasizes womanizing and hedonism and balances it out with a couple clean and empty ballads. Out of this portion of the album, only a couple songs leave a lasting impression, and when they do, the silly things that come out of Brown’s mouth tend to be the reason; take “As stingy as you are, I think you ready,” part of “Take My Time”’s chorus and hopefully no woman’s idea of an effective bedroom line. A two-track patch of gloopy and gawky Europop, where he’s on slightly better behavior, is at least more tolerable than the inane chest-puffing, but nothing comes close to the big singles from Brown’s first two releases. The rest of this album could not have been voiced by anyone but a delusional brat who pleaded guilty to the felonious assault of his pop star girlfriend, one who attempts to justify an unjustifiable action and considers himself the real victim. On “Famous Girl,” sonically sprightly but otherwise acidic and full of contradictions, Brown cries foul at being cheated upon by his “heartless” ex but taunts “I might have cheated in the beginning.” He accuses her of being a heartbreaker and then boasts “I’ve broken my share of hearts.” Another jab, “I was wrong for writing ‘Disturbia,'” makes it plain that the song is about Rihanna. Both “Falling Down” and the sarcastically titled “Lucky Me” could lead a onetime sympathizer to fantasize about pulling a Chris Brown on Chris Brown. In these songs, Brown is exceptionally insufferable, conveying that his unimaginable wealth and social privileges are no consolation for being put through the ringer. “Even though I’m so damaged, I gotta pick myself up and perform for the crowd” is capped with “You don’t even know how hard it is, do you?” He also lets his listeners know that he has had to do photo shoots when he has not felt like smiling, and that he has “given up everything in exchange for being alone.” Maybe his supporters should be considerate and assist in putting the young man out of his misery. If they stop purchasing his recordings, concert tickets, and merchandise, the evil entertainment industry, all media outlets, and potential heartbreakers will lose interest and loosen their grip on him.

I didn't know who this album was by until I read SOFI's post. Knowing who this album is by and that its the first you bought in 4 years, well this is reason # 16 I think you're gay.

I basically wrote the review for SiGh. He knew what it was about...and obviously only ppl follow Chris Brown would obviously appreciate this.

Figured we needed diversity.

And honestly Casey,

A lot of people are shitting on it not because of his music, but because he beat Rhianna.

His album is good for what it is for Chris Brown.

But thanks for posting that youtube clip, I had no idea. But for some reason, the way the girl sung and stuff, it for some reason reminded me of Swami.

I couldn't give a fuck if he beat up the god damn Queen, Michelle Obama, Whitney Houston, Madonna and went back in time, met up with Ike Turner and gave Tina a double beating......the guy is a tool and his music sucks ass and I would have said that regardless.

The ONLY singer in the current crop of young R&B singers that can hold his own is Ne-Yo. He's the ONLY one.

I hear Trey Songz is good too, but I don't listen to R&B male singers. wtf, I have a dick ok.

I always thought that the reason why he IS even recognized and this album sells is because he beat up Rihanna.
This is not true.

He made his recording debut in late 2005 with the self-titled album Chris Brown at the age of 16. The album featured the hit single "Run It!", which topped the Billboard Hot 100, making Brown the first male artist since Montell Jordan to have his debut single top the chart in 1995.[1] The album has sold over two million copies in the United States and was certified double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[2]
Wiki doesn't lie. Run it featuring Juelz Santana was the shit!! I was going to clubs a lot at that age and it was everywhere.

He also had other hits like Kiss Kiss that just shitted on everybody on the charts.

Also, his song "Forever" is the truth.

He was like a big teenage sensation, girls straight up jocked him. But I understand how you might not know. I mean, the Jonas Brothers probably are just as famous as he is and I don't know much about them.

yeah and he wasn't ever popular here. Come to think of it I recall hearing that track with Juelz Santana but I didn't even care who was that singing guy.
So personally I started recognizing him because of these Rihanna gifs.

I know exactly what you mean and that is part of the reason R&B sucks these days, it is 90% marketed to women with the subject matter, the image, etc.

R&B was never like that back in the day. Cats like Marvin Gaye, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Rick James could drop a smooth ballad for the ladies and also drop a hard edged funk jam for the brothers.

The hardest gangsters in the streets would be rollin around in their lowriders jammin to Prince and Rick James, Cameo, The Time, Zapp.

Real R&B doesn't exist anymore. Ain't a single one of these modern cats that can hold a candle to any of the top singers of previous decades, not ONE.

wow. Look, I understand Chris ain't no RnB god, he's an entertainer. That's why the dude can dance and shit too.

But, right now he is one of the best @ RnB, like it or not. That speaks volumes for RnB, I know, but that's just the way it is.

I don't care if it's a guy or a girl singing the song. If it's good. It's good. Sorry. But maybe b/c I didn't only grow up with marvin gaye and other ones that can appeal to guys, but I grew up with Smokey Robinson and those that mainly appealed to ladys.

Pfft, don't get it twisted, Smokey had some hard jams in his day too. EVERYBODY on Motown did, from Marvin to Smokey to Stevie to Michael.

Don't make excuses for this wack ass woman beater and his garbage music, you know DAMN well he can't stand up to R&B of the 90's, LET ALONE before that.
