Thanksgiving (aka needless turkey murder day)

The same, exact thing could be said for every poster on this board. Take me and illmatic, for example. We have on numerous occasions "wound" you up and engaged you in these arguments whereby you've gone off your rocker, basically. It's after "winding you up" and looking at your behavior after, that I concluded what I've concluded in the other thread. So, while you think we're the lab rats, YOU are the lab rat. :D

Not at all.

Actually, ill-matic has even sent me private messages before telling me to "play along" with an argument he's started.

Every time you THINK i've gone off my rocker I've been sitting here laughing to myself. Every time.

And your conclusion was completely off base, actually. Again, you can ask any single person I've spoken to off of this board if that's the case and they'll tell you it is. Prize Gotti, Rukas, SiGh, Synful - go ahead and ask them.

Which argument(s)?

Every time you THINK i've gone off my rocker I've been sitting here laughing to myself. Every time.

unconvinced.

They will tell me that you're not an ego-maniac? Didn't you admit it yourself at one point? Or was that a part of the master plan too? lol

Which argument(s)?

Many of them. I forget the specific ones.

unconvinced.

Great. I'm not here to convince you of something that I know, because the truth remains whether YOU believe it or not, and the people here that are relevant to my life already know it.

They will tell me that you're not an ego-maniac? Didn't you admit it yourself at one point? Or was that a part of the master plan too?

Sarcasm duly noted, but yes, clearly that was part of the character.

And yes, for the record, I believe that they would tell you that I'm not an egomaniac. I have had plenty of one-on-one conversations with all of those people, notably Prize Gotti, Rukas and SiGh, and due to the amount of times I've spoken with them, they can accurately assess my character.

However, I don't think that A) you care enough to bother. If you do, I'm pleased that I intrigue you so much and B) I'm inclined to think you are going to believe what you want to believe even with reams of evidence to the contrary.

Was this a part of the master plan too?

Clearly. And it worked since you seem to be still hung up on it.

And your sarcastic usage of the term "master plan" indicates that I had some attainable goal that I wanted to reach. That's not the case, it was, and is, a continuing study and exercise.

We have it here in Canada, it's only in October. Action de Grace pour ceux qui habitent au Quebec.

Ca change rien pour moi, c'est une journee inutile et un journee pour dodoer. :push: :cheesy:

Ohhhhh LOL but I don't celebrate it.

Moi j'aime l'Action de Grace. Une journée fériée pour rien.

Casey, the one thing I have "against" your "scheme" (between quotation marks because it feels appropriate) is that you sort of take advantage of people trying to have an honest discussion with you.

When the debate turns serious and you're playing a character, you need to remind yourself that people are in essence replying to your character.

Now I'm not trying to dissuade you from doing your experiment, that's your good right, all power to you.

However, you shouldn't be too surprised when people (SOFI) are sceptical when you say "it's usually a character". It might feel like a cop-out when you turn up and say it's an experiment. Because it's easy to fool people online.

Now I don't attach too many feelings to your online behaviour. Given your (seemingly :D) level of intelligence and wide musical choice, I would happily share a beer and a spliff with you while discussing the finer points in life. But online, why are you arguing people's feeling towards your character, which you set up yourself, from a defensive posture?

After all, you should know that your experiment, by the way you conducted it, would generate hostility. And don't say "it's part of the experiment", because eventually the experiment would degenerate into "how the internet deals with an asshole" and that's a question that's not difficult to answer.

You know what Caseys excuse/explanation reminds me of?

When you say something to somebody else and it doesnt turn out the way you wanted it to be, you come up with the excuse of "Oh, come on, i wasnt serious...i was just kidding".

yeah, however in Casey's defense I also play "devil's advocate" and come up with some points in a discussion even if I really don't think that way. They just seem valid enough to mention. Sometimes it's like "I'll say something against what I think that is right and wait for arguments that will convince me that I was really correct". Then I forget about a thread at some point or think that it would be stupid to say that actually I wasn't thinking that way from the start. So people online might really think that my opinion on something is X while in fact it's Y or even Z (given that their is Z).
Only sometimes I make really serious posts and state my true opinion and that's usually either in "the streets", "tech talk" or "do for love".

I think my internet personality is totally different than in real life. I'm sure that also applies to Casey.

I know what you're saying Duke, however the idea was to push it as far as it could go BEFORE it got to the point where it became "how the internet deals with an asshole". I felt like over the last few days I was getting dangerously close to that point (ie the character got pushed far enough that it almost became a parody of itself) and therefore felt like it was time to readdress the situation.

As far as getting defensive about the character and taking advantage, I think, if I was an actor, I'd be a method actor that never gives up the character for the sake of giving the best performance. I was watching a DVD the other day called "His Name was Jason: 30 years of Friday The 13th", and they interviewed all the guys that have played Jason over the years.

One think that struck me about one in particular about one of the guys (who was a method actor) was that he was saying how, for the sake of authenticity, he deliberately did not socalize at all with any of the other cast members. Many of them didn't even ever see him without the mask and makeup on. So when they were shooting those scenes, those victims really were intimidated and nervous about this guy.

They couldn't be like "hey that's my good buddy bob (or whoever) playing the role of jason with the mask on, i'm gonna look REAL scared of you bob and then after finish filming we can go grab a beer, woo!"

I really relate to that way of thinking. I think at some point (maybe after 4 albums or so) I will take a break from music and land myself a couple of movie gigs. I've been offered some stuff in the past but had to turn it down due to not being in the country at the time of filming.

Method Actors are great. Best style imo. Christian Bale is notorious for it, even more.. Dustin Hoffman.. he's done some messed up shit to get into a role. lol.

It's interesting.

Bale is amazing at it..... his character in 'The Machinist' was just an incredible portrayal.

Not to mention scary as fuck. Walking skeleton. It's quite amazing how quickly he got back into shape for Batman. He went from death camp inmate to muscular superhero in like, what was it, 9 months or so?

I have no idea how he managed to do that. That is some SERIOUS focus. Probably caused his internal organs some damage too.

Heard he wanted to drop down even more in weight, but the studio and producers advised him not to unless he wanted to his his vital organs start failing on him. lol

Still fresh off The Machinist, it became necessary for Bale to bulk up to match Batman's muscular physique. He was given a deadline of six months to do this. Bale recalled it as far from a simple accomplishment: “...when it actually came to building muscle, I was useless. I couldn’t do one push up the first day. All of the muscles were gone, so I had a real tough time rebuilding all of that.”[28] With the help of a personal trainer, Bale succeeded in meeting the deadline, gaining a total of 100 lb (45 kg) in six months. He went from about 130 lbs to 230 lbs.[35] He then discovered that he had actually gained more weight than the director desired, and dropped his weight to 190 lbs by the time filming began.[36]

Wiki negro.

Yeah, I could see you staying in character as a bollywood extra. It's not too hard, just requires a lot of dancing and looking stupid. :)
