Just thought i'd introduce some of you to some songs from UK artists and what the sound is like over here. i must say it really has improved from all the nonsense that used to be out in the last 5 or so years. it went downhill after garage was so popular, grime was just terrible but its becoming better and now that bassline, house and garage have been on a comeback since its all improving. so here you go. im just going to include videos of random songs i like from artists, or have good production.

Dizzee Rascal - (From beginning to present):

From the "Boy In Da Corner" Album:
I Luv U:

Fix Up, Look Sharp:

Jus A Rascal:

From the "Showtime" Album:
Stand Up Tall:

Dream:

Off 2 Work/Graftin:

From the "Maths and English" Album:

Sirens:

Pussyole (Old Skool):

Flex:

From the new "Tongue N Cheek" Album:

Dance Wiv Me (Feat. Calivin Harris & Chrome):

Bonkers (Feat. Armand Van Helden):

Holiday (Feat. Chrome):

you can see how his sound has changed, chronologically. he had underground hits at first, now he has radio hits but i think they're still good and he's experimenting with a new sound which is okay because he's using calvin harris' production, which i think is good.

Dizzee Rascal is probably the only half decent artist you posted there. I can't stand N'Dubz, pile of garbage in my opinion.

Have you heard any of Akala's material? One of the most talented and intelligent rappers to emerge from our country, give this song a listen, In fact everybody should hear this track:

Dizzee is alright, not sure about the newer stuff tho. N-Dubz i like.
Cant beat a bit of Klashnekoff, Blak Twang, Phi Life Cypher, SkinnyMan and Roots Manuva.

Seen this guy alot on Channel U or whatever the fuck its called now, and i cant make up my mind on him, sometimes I think its good and other times not so much!

N Dubz are garbage.

Dizzee wasn't getting big hits with hip-hop or grime, so he effectively sold out by switching to electro and house music. Dance Wiv Me was a hit because of Calvin Harris. Bonkers was a hit because of Armand Van Helden. etc etc

All that grime shit is wack. Tinchy Stryder and Skepta is just bullshit music made for the lowest common denominator. There is fuck all substance to it. UK scene does not impress me in the slightest aside from Lowkey and Foreign Beggars. Those guys are fucking dope.

I hate that English crap. 90% of it is garbage.

Artists like Dizzee Rascal and Wiley are the definition of wackness.

that track you posted "Wearing my Rolex" is cringe worthy. its music for dumbasses.

What a bland, piss weak introduction to music from the UK scene.

Check out Braintax. He's also on the same label as Skinny Man, another good artist that Stone_Cold mentioned.

Braintax - Living In The Grip Again. Written from the perspective of a Palestinian suicide bomber: intelligent and vivid.

Braintax - Retail. Consumerism track, the hook applies to most of the tracks posted in this thread.

Braintax - Exodus. Written as if it were the year was 3000 and global warming has caused the devastation of the earth.

If not even one of these songs provokes some kind of reaction, by all means, go back to listening to Dizzee Rascal.
