So Im a little cheesed....

I live in Toronto, which I like to think is the most "American city" Canada has, meaning we got everything you guys got down south.

Until today when i went to three HMV's, two Sunrise Records and Two Futureshops only to be told that Slaughterhouse hadn't been shipped yet.

ITS WEDNSDAY! WTF!

i went HMV yesterday and i asked the assistant if they had it in stock. He never heard of it. He asked when is it released, i said yesterday (which was Tuesday). He said "that's odd, albums in the UK are usually released on a monday". So i told him, they are american and it was released on Tuesday worldwide.

He went over to his computer to check it on the system and he asked "what are they called? the slaughtermen?" at this point i couldnt help but burst out and laugh. i tried to hold it in".

He found something on his system. I thought he'd come up with one called the Sluaghterhouse Five - which i came across whilst surfing the net once. He said the album was released back in june. I replied "Yes that was the original release date but its been pushed back several times and yesterday was the release date". Only for him to have a puzzled look on his face. He was obviously a rock music fan, and albums only get pushed back numerous times in the world of hip-hop so it was quite uncanny for him. he was very surprised.

BASTARD!

I WANT THAT ALBUM IN HMV AND I WANT TO SEE "THE ONE" ON MY TV!!

On a side note, could this be anything to do with the record label E1 and their distribution? Of course the main target audience was going to be from USA.

HMV only carries Lil Wayne and Kanye albums.
Well thats the bullshit that sells. I would love the section in my store to be full of Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Immortal Technique, PUTS, Blackalicious etc but no one really gives a shit, and the ones who do give a shit dont shop there, especially in the backwards city im employed in!
