Any thoughts on why someone would degrade the quality of a track? I find it weird this trend with the tracks that are are been leaked.
Now we are evolving from '2pac fans who have og tracks in cdq' to 2pac fans who are split into two groups.
Group 1: those have og tracks in cdq
Group 2: those who have og tracks in dq (degraded quality).
What next? Laws of evolution prove that 11 yrs from now, we will all be classified as 2pac fans who have all the 2pac og tracks, in cdq. Unless a giant meteorite from outer space hits earth, making all 2pac fans extinct, leaving alive humans who are not 2pac fans.
Bobby, if you're reading this, this is why I got at you so harshly about misinformation. One person says something uneducated, and other people start building large arguments on top off bullshit.
The earlier releases weren't degraded, they were alternate rips from alternate sources. Get your facts straight / learn the basics of audio recording.
Also, it ain't split between two groups that have different quality versions of songs. It's split between:
Group 1: People that are infatuated with 2Pac because they haven't found themselves yet and desperately try to affiliate with someone or something in their pursuit of an identity. This is the phase most of us old heads on these forums went through at some point, which is why we were so much into Pac. It's like when you get together with a girl because you like the idea of having a girlfriend, when in fact, you don't even like the girl. A few years later you break up and you never do that shit again. Similarly, this group of fans were never ready to put in time and money to source new material. Most hardly purchased all of Pac's albums.
Group 2: Collectors who over the years are the ones that sourced every unreleased and alternate Tupac track that you have. If not for these collectors, you wouldn't have all that shit, and you also wouldn't have all the radio edits and alternate mixes of Pac songs from singles. You take it for granted, but some releases are ultra rare, and the ones that are normally have some good shit on them. This group is the group of people that are Pac fans to such a degree that they are willing to give up sums of their pay check to hear more, and in better quality.
I don't get why people can't get this through their thick skulls. When you spend a bunch of money on something, you don't wanna give it away. Everyone that wants Tupac tracks can't argue about this because their opinion is so biased. As fans, they feel
entitled to songs that they have no way of getting themselves. If I take the time out to do police detective work and sniff out someone that were close to Pac, then I spend money and time befriending this person, taking trips to wherever he's at, hooking up, maybe doing an interview for a Pac site, establishing a relationship, having the balls to confront him about shit I want and bargaining with him until he is willing to sell it, promising that this song will never leave my immediate circle of friends and family, and then ultimately putting a sum on the table that seriously dents my economy that month (or even year), forcing me to live with lesser standards than what I've spent my life building around me... I don't wanna share that track.
Another thing worth pointing out is, you have to be a people's person to even be able to do something like that. Most morons on the Pac scene would call up one of his producers and be like "HEY YOU GOT SOME UNHEARD PAC TO SELL?" It's comparable to blurting out "UHM, HEY, CAN I FUCK YOU?" to some random girl. Getting unheard Pac is something not everyone can do, because some people have the wrong intentions. All you motherfuckers who just wanna hear the shit once because you were so far up into Pac's ass when you were younger and you confuse nostalgia and false sense of entitlement with actual desire and then bitch at people that have more than you, people like you could never source material because you don't fucking understand. You think you get the world, you think you understand how people work, you think you got this shit right, but you don't "understand" the Pac "game". You're the same morons that'll say Pac was in the illuminati or some shit. Or the ones saying Pac NEVER fucked with ANYTHING other than weed. And ecstasy ONCE!!!!! Your whole view of the world and of what it means to have Pac rares is a misconstrued dream. In reality, it's like when you have a friend who works at Wal-Mart. So maybe he lets you buy beer after closing hours or gives you discounted loose weight candy. If you keep bringing every friend you have and a bunch of strangers into the store for the same perks your friend ain't gonna wanna give it to any of you anymore. That's not what it was about. You understand?
As a thought concept, I want you to humor me by justifying why
you should be able to harvest the fruits of
MY emotional investment, time and money. The fact is, you can't unless you're willing to give away your car/apartment.
