I think the scenery is very dull. It's basically Upper Blackrock Spire, only in a castle form. Also has Orcs and dragons.
The zone consists of 11 encounters:
1. A room with eggs, a dragonkin boss (like the ones in Egg Hatchery in UBRS) and an orb. You control the dragon with the orb and you have him destroy the eggs. While this is going on the room gets zerged by unlimited Orcs and 10 dragons. You have to find a way to keep the amount of Orcs reasonable and keep the 10 dragons occupied. After the eggs break, all the mobs run away and you have to kill the dragon. Hard and kind of fun process to beat but once you've beaten it, it's just boring as hell. Takes long and dealing with a zerg is never fun.
2. Big dragon boss (like Azuregos). You have unlimited mana for this fight but you constantly get hit by a DoT, no heals = death simply by being there. He
randomly casts Burning Adrenaline on people which will kill you after 10-15 secs or so. Fight is based on luck which is pure fucking bullshit. What happens is, some fights all the healers get blown up = bye bye.
3. Two groups of a bunch of dragonkin. Trash mobs.
4. Two rooms filled with devices, endless dragon whelps, dragonkin and orcs. The dragonkin and orcs respawn after 5 mins or so, the whelps very fast. You have to pull the dragonkin/orcs (and AE the whelps that come along) and then slowly move forward. Rogues have to push down the devices, cuz they have a slow effect. Again, a fun encounter to do
once but after you've beaten it, there is 0 fun is doing a 20-30 min encounter every fucking time. Also, the boss Broodlord Lashlayer is at the end of the room, right behind the mobs. During the fight you will get whelps. If you die, you have to re-do the entire thing. I'm a hunter and pulling this is a fucking pain in the ass. Boss is cool as hell tho (
shitty pic. Problem is, you have a very small spot to fight in. You have ranged dps/healers on 1 side and warriors/rogues at the boss. If a DPS gets aggro he'll run into the group and he has blastwave which does damage and knocks everyone back (into the whelps basically). If DPS isn't high enough, healers might get healing aggro, same shit.
Also blastwave reduces aggro, and the warriors get hit by it constantly. DPS have to be VERY careful.
5. A drake boss. He does shadow flame which hits you for about 4K damage
if you have Onyxia Scale Cloak (so if the tanks don't have it, you're done), he does knockback and is constantly casting a DoT. The warrior has to keep the boss with his back towards the raid, cuz if they get shadow flame it's over. Knockback makes this hard. And he has to tank it in a spot where the healers can heal him without getting the dot. DPS has to fight and move out of sight when the DoT stacks up too much. They wait for the dot to fade, heal up and go back in. It's a hard fight, especially for the warrior, and he has a shitload of health so it takes (too) long. The fight can get fucked up by 1 mistake, and that's no fun after a 10 minute fight.
6. 6 groups around 10 mobs and 2 groups of 3 dragons (same type as Broodlord Lashlayer). The group of around 10 mobs has 2 Orc Warlocks which do rain of fire (AE, 500 dmg per tick I think), a bloodelf spellbinder, a dragon (like broodlord) and a bunch of goblins that throw bombs. I'm main puller in BWL and sometimes I manage to split the spellbinder and dragon from the group but even then it's a shitty fight. The warlocks have a shitload of health, do a shitload of damage and they summon elite demons. If you die and even one mob stays alive, the entire group respawns.
The groups of 3 dragons is horrible. They have different powers which u won't know until you engage. They do warstomp and stun and casts whirlwind (makes the person whirl around and do damage to people around). Cause of the stun we sometimes need 2 warriors on the mob to keep him from losing aggro but even then it's hard as hell.
7. Another drake boss, looks exactly the same as the first one (BORING). Has shadowflame and he casts a debuff on the person he has aggro on and when he hits that person he heals himself. So we have 3 warriors, they taunt off each other so the one with debuff doesn't get hit. He has little HP but he heals up very fast. As a hunter I can basically put on autoshot and AFK. Boring as hell.
8. ANOTHER drake, EXACTLY the same as the other two. Shadowflame, dot and he enrages (hunters have to tranq shot him). Easy, boring.
9. 3 dragons (like Broodlord).
10. Chromaggus. I think Nefarius took a Core Hound and mixed it with dragon genes or something (
pic).
He casts a bunch 4 debuffs (1 stuns you periodically, 1 burns mana, 1 burns 250hp per tick, forgot the other one). They have to get decursed cause if you get 4, you turn into a dragon (like broodlord) and start killing people. Besides this he casts 2 spells (there's like 4 spells he has, he randomly gets 2 of them for each instance). One is a direct damage spell I think, 2 are very deadly DoTs, and 1 is time lapse. He enrages and the hunters
have to tranq shot him or else his damage output is insane. Shitty thing is his enrage and a spell he casts may be at the same time so the hunters have to wait for the spell to be casted and then go in to tranq shot. Timelapse is his worst ability. He freezes everyone in LOS and then he goes for people who aren't frozen or the highest on his DPS list. There's a bug (thanks Blizzard) where the tank's aggro gets reset sometimes so regaining aggro after time lapse (after he's prob killed a few people) is near impossible. If he doesn't have timelapse he's a push-over.
Boring.
11. Nefarius. He sits on his throne in human form, non-aggro. You talk to him to start a 3 phase fight.
Phase 1: There's 2 gates, dragons come out of these gates until you kill 42. Once you've killed 42 they stop spawning but you still need to kill the ones that are up. During this phase Nefarius runs around in shadow form (you can't hit him) randomly casting shadow bolts at people and mindcontrolling them (mind controlled mages + 150% damage boost + AE = a lot of dead people). If you die in phase 2, Nefarius despawns, so if we have too many people dead (3-4 people is too much really) when we're near killing 42, we turn off attack and die. So basically phase 1 = zerg encounter = first encounter in BWL. Yay!!
Phase 2: He transforms into his dragonform (coolest dragon I've seen in a game so form). He does shadowflame, fear and class specific spells.
Priest call = Priests heals are corrupted, so it does damage. Shaman/druids have to heal the main tank
Warlock = spawns 3 Infernals for every warlock in the raid
Shaman = he makes shaman drop their totems and corrupts them. They have to run away from him or the totems drain all their mana. (I dunno what it is for Paladin)
Warrior = stuck in Beserker stance = warrior takes more damage
Druid = Druids stuck in Cat Form, can't heal
Rogues = Rogues get summoned to his tail, warrior has to move him or else rogues all die
Mage = he casts polymorph on people. He turns you into a squirrel, a maggor or a giraffe lmao.
Hunters = he breaks your weapon. We bring an extra weapon and switch it before he breaks it, then switch back.
This is the only cool fight in the zone. We've only killed him twice (last time we got him on first try) but we can pretty much kill him every time. Only problem is he fears. Shaman can place tremor totems but they're not very reliant. Warrior gets feared = he goes for next person on aggro list. If it's not another warrior he's basically just running around killing people and if he gets off a shadowflame, pretty much half your raid will be dead.
As usual, Alliance has easy-mode here cause of Dwarf Priests. They don't have a single problem with fear while it's the only thing that we as Horde have trouble with.
To remind you again, if you die in phase 2-3, he despawns. Normally you have to wait 12 hours but you can make him respawn in 30 minutes but you have to leave the instance (long walk to Nefarius) and a 30 min break between trying a boss is fucking annoying and you makes it difficult to practise. So imagine wiping at 1% and then waiting at least 30 mins (not counting getting back there and rebuffing etc) to be able to try again.
Phase 3: You get him to 20% and the 42 mobs you killed get resurrected. You now have to kill 42 skeletons while still keeping Nefarius under control.
So to summize: The scenery sucks, very hard and boring mobs/bosses (of which 3 are exactly the same) where 1 tiny error can fuck everything up.
And to answer your question: yes, I am very, very bored right now.
