Yeah epic fail from Microsoft. They are terminating their "Kin" phones. They couldn't even sell 10k units and took some epic fail reviews as one of the biggest flops in the phone market.

Now they could either:
1. apologize and consider all these invested millions of dollars to be "lost"
2. or try again with a new phone
(Spoiler: they took the second route)

Since the whole project consisted of 2 things: 1. Epic fail phones and 2. Epic fail system (with potential though). They decided to get rid of one of these hoping that it'll be enough for a moment.
Now they want to release a phone that doesn't look like a piece of crap for mentally harmed teenagers that wouldn't want them anyway but still works on the same system. Now they're releasing a seriously, business-looking smartphone with high-end hardware with a shitty operating system for retarded teenagers. How smart.

Microsoft KIN is dead, long live Windows Phone 7 - GSMArena.com news

To be fair if they redesign their software too and make it more serious (but not too serious, just get rid of some childish and retarded features and marketing) they still have chances as Windows 7 Phone seriously looked promising (before these "Kin" phones have been presented).
