if it does not make you nod your head to it or want to just bust some random move, you are not a rap fan.
Now I can understand you're point of view, but that there is just bullshit. You're basically saying everyone has to share the same opinion as you.

Stop being a backpacker. No one said Laffy Taffy was a great song, and damn the lyrics are tight! No one said that. Everyone in this forum knows what real hip-hop is about, including you. And you know there's a difference between that real shit and shit that is meant for the clubs, and that's what this is. Laffy Taffy takes over your body and just makes you dance, ok? If you don't know that, you ain't a real hiphop head, you're just a hater that has to be a backpacker. If you want to go listen to Talib Kweli in the club, go ahead. As for this Kevin Federline song, the dude is a fucking dance, NOT A RAPPER. RAP HAS NOT BEEN HIS LIFE. RAP DOESN'T DEFINE HIS SPEECH, RAP DOESNT DEFINE HIS DRESSCODE, RAP DOESN'T DEFINE HIS HISTORY. RAP DOESN'T DEFINE HIS GIRLFRIEND. ETC. THERE ARE QUALIFICATIONS TO BE A RAPPER, YEAH I SAID IT. This is a white dude who's a dancer, formally a rocker. He reminds me of Justin Timberlake goin R&B.

I'm not being a fucking backpacker. I'm not a big Kweli fan either, so stop jumping to conclusions about what kind of rap I listen to soley based on the fact that I think Laffy Taffy is a horrible fucking song, which it is. I don't care if its just supposed to be a club song, IT'S STILL WACK.

There are plenty of club songs that have great flow and lyrics also. You CAN NOT justify something not being wack by saying "it's just a club song, it doesn't have to have good lyrics". Wack is wack, end of fucking story, and Laffy Taffy is a fucking wack song.

I disgaree that K-Fed has to have "qualifications" as you say, to make a rap song or be a rapper. That's bullshit. How do you know he hasn't listened to and loved rap his whole life? JD used to be a dancer before he was a rapper, is he not "qualified"?

I've listened to rap, rock, metal and funk for my whole life. Rap partially defines my speech and dresscode, as does metal and funk. Your just as likely to see me with my hair in braids rocking some Makaveli Branded as you are to see me wearing a long sleeved Nine Inch Nails t-shirt with my hair down and straight.Music does not in any way define my girlfriend. We share similar musical tastes in some artists, but we also both like artists that the other one would probably never listen to. Rap has defined my history, again only partially.

So, according your theory, maybe I'm not qualified to be a rapper. Yet I've been rapping since I was 8, sold over 100,000 records independantly by the time I was 17, and I'm the only rapper (as far as I know) on this board with a major label deal.

I will love real hiphop till the day I die. and that does not include wackness like Laffy Taffy, The Whistle Song, or any other bullshit with no flow or lyrics that happens to get drunk people dancing in clubs (not exactly hard) because it may have a good bass drum sound, or an average synth melody.

back on topic, i will never dabce to this song. NEVER. wtf are those lyrics? man this is awful.

but i'm sure it'll get played a lot in clubs.

oh and lol @ kevin federline jamming on his own song badly. can u get gayer than that?

laffy taffy maybe garbage but when im at the clubs bitches be shaking they ass to dat song
I agree...Some songs arent meant to be deep and poetic and mean something. Some songs are just good to dance to. They put you in a silly mood (at least me). I'd listen to laffy taffy andyday before I'd listen to "back then hoes didn't want me, now
i'm hot hoes all on me" "back then hoes didn't want me, now i'm hot hoes all"
:::rips hair out:::
It's obvious we all have different taste in music, there's not reason to put someone down for what they listen to. If the majority of ppl didnt like laffy taffy and ying yang twins they wouldn't be on the radio everyday.

I'm sooooo sorry....I actually don't care either. I like the song. You don't...I'm over it...hopefully you'll get over it too.

/\ Thanks for the apology. I'm happy that you don't care, perhaps it will keep you from making uninformed comments in the future. :D :D

Over what? There is nothing to get over in the first place.

^why are you so worked up over a song?

...I think you secretly love it.

/\ lol you got me.

No, not at all. Laffy Taffy is a disgrace to music. I'm gonna stop talking about it now. I'm making a rule to only mention good music from now. and with that said....

*Militant starts singing "Controversy" by Prince...."people call me rude, I wish we all were nude, I wish there was no black and white, I wish there were no rules*

/\ you want your song to get a shitload of airplay? regardless of how good it is? The answer is $$$$.

/\ true, but that has nothing to do with the amount of promotion/airplay that something gets.

Radio is bullshit. Your budget in promotion is what gives you airplay, that's why fruitcup singers took over the radio spins with their shit songs. Anyways, doesn't matter...

This song sucks, and Laffy Taffy makes me wanna slit my wrist and cry while listening to Usher.

The radio station I listen to only plays songs that the listener requests...::shrugs::

That's how the more popular radio stations are here too, the DJ's are popular based off ratings, their ratings come from the listeners tuning in, so it seems to me that it would behoove them to play what the listeners want to hear and not what someone is "paying" them to play. Because the lil side money isn't going to be able to replace their jobs.

Here, alot of the times on the weekends, they play all local artists, because they send their tapes in to the radio station, and if someone hears it and likes it, they can call in and request it and the DJ'll play it. I've heard alot of my guys on the radio quite frequently, and they don't have deals at all.
