I guess it was because of the concept that they had then.

nah nah nah!! it's most probably cuz they wanted to "payback" on all these artists who released those few songs they were left with after Pac's parting from this world.
like Spice-1 & Richie Rich that brought to rap, each one 2 and 1 songs, on their albums and compilations.. they were One Day at a Time [released in '98], Cant Turn Back ['99] and Niggaz Done Changed ['97].

..I think Amaru prolly was like "fuck 'em!!" let's fuck up all the work we owe from these mothafuckaz; so they fuck'd up One Day, Fortune & Fame (both originally recorded with Spice) and My Block (originally featuring Richie Rich's adlibs).
same shit happened to Assassin with Mind of a Bad Boy, Kriminal Minded, [All Out, Judgement Day], and the list goes on!
