Why Does Eminem Get All The Blame?

Well, I agree and disagree with you. I do agree with you that Afeni should have had a few producers on the album.

However, you saying Em is "a rapper, not a producer" is wrong. First of all, he's been producing for himself and other local Detroit acts since 1995. He produced half the MMLP, he produced all of TES (save for like 2 or 3 songs), he produced most of both the D12 records, he produced all of "Cheers" (save for a song or two), he produced all the ORIGINAL songs for the 8 Mile soundtrack, he produced three songs for the Resurrection soundtrack (which a lot of people here at the time said he did a great job), he produced most of Encore, he's produced for Jay Z (the only guest artist Jay Z had on his album), he's produced for 50 Cent and Jadakiss.

So he very much so is both a rapper and producer, and you know damn well he wouldn't be the first.

And in regards to saying Em only took 3 days to do the album and "I bet he wouldn't take only 3 days with his own album.". Who knows...but Pac did. Guess it's ok if youre name is 2pac, but not if it's Eminem.
if em is a producer, what happend to LTTG, if he made beats that could fit pacs vocals then yes maybe he could be considered a worthwhile producer for 2pac

I agree here, but I know why people are blaming Em. That's not what I need to know. I made a thread asking why Afeni and the Lawz get no blame and all people can do is tell me why they're putting sole blame on Eminem. I already know why people blame Eminem, that's not what I'm asking.

See, I'm sorry, but this shit really doesn't bother me.

Not the first time this was done. Pac's vocals have been messed with and altered in some fashion since either RUSD or UTEOT. So this excuse doesn't and won't fly with me. This shit was being done before Em did it.

Again, this had been done to some of Pac's OG stuff before LTTG, so to me, it's irrelevant.

Another thing that had been done PRIOR to Eminem ever working on Pac stuff.

Pac did this himself, so, again, it's an excuse that doesn't fly with me.

Bullshit. How can it be "mainly Em's fault" when Afeni approved the final fucking product? I just don't get that.
Dont be so arrogant and stop seeing Eminen as some God like figure. Half the shit you said was false so go back to www.shadyasslicker.com :thumb:

makaveli = 7 days more then eminem

Actually, the ORIGINAL ALBUM TOOK 3 DAYS. Do you have the Thug Angel box set? If so, on the CD included in it, there is an interview with the only female Outlaw, Storm on it. She talks about how Makaveli was actually completely done in 3 days, but "people kept coming to Pac with new beats, and he'd like the new beat better than the first one, so he'd have the engineer switch the beats. So, the album was actually recorded and finished in 3 days."

And furthermore, so what if it was 7 days. 7 FUCKING DAYS. Dogg, I'm an underground rapper in Detroit. I've recorded about 4 or 5 songs in a professional studio. When you're talking about a 12-13 song album, doing the whole entire thing, laying vocals, the beat, arranging, mixing, recording your ad libs and all that shit, there is virtually no difference between 3 and 7 days.

How bout Em...
-made Pac say things he never said
-Took out OG artists and replaced them with mediorce shit
-Changed the message of the songs to suit himself

Yes Afeni should get some of the blame but it was mainly Em's fault

That did the exact thing on "Still Ballin", replacing "Kurupt" with "Trick", but nobody even talks about that.

Nobody complains about Tyrese, Mya, TI, Jazza Pha, Nas, etc. on Better Dayz, but suddenly its a crime with Eminem does it? That has shit has been going on before LTTG came out - why werent people sayin "free Tupac" back then?

And what message did they change? They don't change the message in his music nor do they flip the meaning to one of his songs. All they really do is make Pac shout out rappers he didnt even know...and even though its pointless, its also harmless.

I Thought People On This Board Were Done Sucking Em's Dick Damn When Will His Groupies Get It That He Fucked Up 2pacs Album Yes It Was Afeni's Fault Too But Afeni Isn't A Producer

wrong http://2pacboard.com/tupac/alivecontradictions2.html

The title of the new album by Makaveli (Tupac) is The 7 Day Theory. He was shot on September 7th; and survived on the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and "died" the 13th. Hence the title The 7 Day Theory.

The Outlawz said the name of the album came from the fact that Tupac wrote and recorded the album in a single week.

ive actually been an eminem fan for years, and i was one of the 2% of the board who (prior to LTTG being leaked) was supporting Eminem for this project, so you can get back to the real discussion and shut the fuck up about "my hatrid blinding me"

Dogg, we're both adults here, there' no need for vulgarity. I'm trying to have a civilized debate between 2 mature adults.

And if you were an Eminem supporter prior to LTTG, then I apologize for saying you let your hatred blind you. I apologize, I shouldn't have assumed.

Just because Eminem isn't the only one to fuck up a 2pac album doesnt mean its excusable. I think its been atleast 6 months since I made a positive comment about the Outlawz or Johnny J either.

Oh, I agree with you completely. It shouldn't excuse Em, but people should stop acting like Em is the first one to "fuck up" Pac's work.
If you are a person who has been down on the Lawz and Johnny, then that's cool. When I make the statements I make, usually I'm generalizing. I'm not usually pointing to one specific person. I can't follow every member of this board to know what their opinions are. But it sounds to me that save for a few aspects on this topic, you and I relatively agree on it.

2pac recording vocals for DK7 in 7 days is much different from producing. Pac had various producers who put in much time for the beats. all 2pac had to do was drop vocals over the beats, so his vocals automatically fit them. eminem wasnt rapping on this album, he was producing , atleast Johnny Js shitty beats on UTEOT and Better Dayz still fit the tempo for 2pacs vocals

Lemme ask you something. I did see the article where Eminem said he spent 3 days on it. But, does anyone recall if he was specific? What I'm getting at is that maybe it took him 3 days to lay Pac's vocals over the beats, not necessarily make the beats himself. Eminem wasn't very specific, so nobody is really sure what exactly took 3 days.

Knowing the process of creating the beat, I find it hard to believe that Em was able to construct 13 beats in 3 days. I'm guessing that a lot of those 3 days was probably mixing/arranging and such. Not necessarily constructing the beat.

However, I think the beats for songs like Soldier Like Me, The Uppercut, Ghetto Gospel, Out On Bail, Don't You Trust Me, Loyal To The Game and Who Do You Love are all pretty average beats. The only beat I can say I really despised was Thug 4 Life. That was just terrible.

eminem produced the album, and afeni let him, she couldnt change what he had done, she is not a producer

is afeni happy with the album....who knows??

Why could she not change what Em had done? All she has to do is call Marshall and say "I don't like this" or "this isn't gonna fly" and have him do it again. She isn't a producer, but that doesn't prevent her from being able to tell him re-do it. Plus, like I said, the Lawz have the final say with her, and they know what they're doing. Fuck, EDI produced some of the Outlawz shit.

who produced soldior like me? who produced who do ya luv? who produced thug 4 life? who produced crooked nigga too? who produced loyal to the game with gunit? who produced hennessy with obie trice? who admitted he only put 3 days of work into 13 songs? who produced a song, and decided to leave off extra Pac verses on 2pacs own album (ie Nigga and Uppercut)? who had to slow down Pacs vocals to fit half of his beats?

thats why Eminem gets the blame

I agree but Afeni did get alot of the blame as well. That website wats it called freetupac.com or something like that. Also Im not sure if the outlawz, get a lot of say.

em wasnt even producin in 95 he was broke and i dont think he even started recordin his infinte album till 1996 after 2pacs death

Dude, 95, 96, oh my God, I was off by a fucking year.

And I hope you do realize that Infinite isn't even his first real album. His first technical album was called "Backstabber" and it had 4 songs on it, including the title track, "Backstabber".

Since Backstabber dropped locally, Eminem has produced much of his own music, he also produced underground shit for other local acts at the time such as D12, Obie Trice, Royce, Slum Village, and a few others.

Yeap. And EDI even said in the allhiphop.com interview that some of the beats on LTTG were str8 up wack. If he felt that way, then way did he let those beats make it onto the album? He could've had Em re-produce them; after all, Em was doin it for free.

They do. Someone posted an interview from EDI at the front page around the time LTTG was dropped. Much of the interview was him talking about how the album was put together and why they selected Eminem to produce the album. EDI also touched on why some people were taken off of the tracks and replaced with others that are just popular and didn't even know Pac.

"...the mainstream don't know who Richie Rich is. The mainstream don't know who Stretch is. Richie Rich benefits from being put on the album because nobody knows him. But people already know Eminem. He's already a star. 50 Cent is already a star. Young Buck is already a star. These guys aren't gonna gain any fame by being put on a Pac record."

Agree or disagree, that's what he said. I personally disagree, I'd rather hear Pac's own homies that was down to ride with him, known or unknown on the track than 50 Cent, who is nothing more than the new Master P. By 2010, people won't remember 50 Cent.

saying eminem is a producer is like saying he's an actor. he's neither. he's a rapper who has explored other areas of his interests and varying degrees of talent. before labeling eminem a producer (who fits the same bill as other hip hop producers who only produce or started by producing), you have to ask yourself if eminem could have succeeded in the industry if he never had picked up a mic. i'd say no with confidence. shit, dizzy can produce better than him and he's working in a cave. by the same token, dr. dre isn't really much of a rapper. his thing is priduction, and just because he picks up the mic on occasion doesn't mean that he could ONLY rap and achieve the same level of success.

i can respect that marshall wanted to be a part of this project. fair enough. but when they cancelled the same tracks that he later produced just so it could be an eminem featuring 2pac album and that hurt the project in an incredible way. replacing tracks by kanye or others in favor of em's very sam-sounding stacatto production was a huge disservice. shit, i'll even let him slide with making pac shout him out because i have done that myself.

changing vocal tempo (buy sometimes as much as 10bpm) is the mark of an amateur. 2pac's albums (including his FIRST) have never resembled novice talent. therefore you turn to the producer of the weak tracks. marshall.

afeni and the outlawz are to blame here, because they have creative control. i think that the outlawz bowed down to eminem's recognition and fame, and thought that he could make this album successful on the merit of his name and therefore continue the 2pac vehicle for outlaw success. once again, had there been no pac, we'd have no outlawz. they would have never made it in the industry. on every album, on every damn one the outlawz make it a point to remind us that they worked with pac. pathetic. they are horrible artists on anything they have touches since 1997-8.

afeni is an aging woman who is not hip hop. i understand that her passion is the tasf. the problem is that she's being fed some very bad advice from those on whom she relies.

its the first time they took pacs words and used it out of context

maybe some were for alive theories but atleast those were phrases and people can take them different ways but "BANKS" "FIFTY" "G UNIT" "TRICE" is just downright obvious bull. eminem gets the blame and i think afeni and the outlawz accepted it cuz if they didnt theyd have to pay eminem MORE to redo the beats...

take it easy on afeni. she's not a musician - she is focusing on helping kids. the problem is that the musicians who pac worked with (the inlawz) are so offbase that they're destroying his music.

what amaru needs is focus groups. play the album to 50 people from a wide crioss section. 49 out of 50 dentists agree this was a poor album.
