It was originally just the first verse and it was made for a Mary J Blige song. Big and Keith Murray was on it. But Puff figured it Big's verse was too rough for the song and they scrapped it. But on Mary's album 'My Life' there's an interlude where you hear part of Keith Murray's verse

And that line wasn't even really a dis, Biggie was actually a good sport about it and had the "make them laugh with you instead of at you" mentality.

Allegedly it was a diss to Pac, but things really don't add up to it. I've heard that track a lot, and honestly I can't see how it's dissing Pac. Plus, wasn't it recorded before the first shooting? I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I think that Big may not have made it something against Pac, but that Puff may have jumped on the track as a sort of defense thing for his camp because Pac was saying all types of shit to them in a whole bunch of interviews.

I dunno though, maybe Puff was just on it yelling because him being on a track talking shit seemed to be pretty big back then.

Pac would've been retarded if he wrote some "Hit 'Em Up" type lyrics when he recorded with Jon B. Bone Thugs would've been stupid if they wrote about guns and weed when recording with Mariah Carey.
