Who founded StreetHop?

HitEmUp was the shit back in the day. I spent most of my time in the Death Forum early on just laughing at some of those theories people would come up with. Some were entertaining but most were just WAY out there. Had Mod duties in there for a while too, along with Lazarus (Don't know if he's still around anywhere). I've just been a lurker since those days, I think this actually might even be my first post...

yeah man i wouldve loved it..but unfortunately i wasnt around...didnt even like pac back then...around the time i got my computer with internet accesss was in february of 2000 (in the 8th grade). i really didnt know much about using the internet...didnt know how to use internet forums...and i didnt like rap that much either...and i still don't that much to this day to tell u the truth....but pac is a totally different story...

so anyway.....around 2002 is when i found hitemup.com accidently while searching for Pac on the net...back when napster was free (im 2000)..i accidentally downloaded California love (which i heard many times before)..and i was like damn....if this song is that good..then there has to be other pac songs that are good too.....

so i went on a search..a search to see what everyone was talking about..why everyone liked rap music so much (that was in the 8th grade).....at the end of my search..i ended up liking rap music just a little...but luving pacs music a whole lot....

and to this day..i like every single 2Pac song...the end :)


i remember visiting hitemup.com front page when it was around...but didnt know how to use an internet forum..didnt know what it even was back at the time..i basically just browsed the front page.....

the pac community has changed...a lot...people like Dante dont post here no more.....and hes probably the biggest collector ive seen...but i wouldn't know the half of it.....


i do remember downloading a lot tracks from kazaa labeled UNRELEASED or Makaveli 11 - Who Shot Ya? or some shit like that......(from the makaveli bootleg spread)...u barly see those now a days tho..i guess cause the pac fans grew out of that u know.....

but maybe we can re-create history again...maybe streethop could do that again...bring back the way it was..not with hitemup...but with streethop and with other sites..who knows....
 
Hitemup and streethop are 2 seperate sites. The Domain StreetHop has existed for a while... Before Rukas, Jon and Chris had it. But it was shit before they took it over.

StreetHop was founded for the purpose of being a general hip-hop site whereas HitEmUp was obviously a Tupac site, but both sites shared the forum as obviously there was obviously already a lot of general hip-hop discussion on the Tupac board.

Then the HitEmUp domain name was stolen.

That's basically the bones of it.

oh yea i heard about the hitemup.com story ages ago near the time when i first joined this site. i just never knew who john peters was.

Yea man, I had a couple thousand posts before the switch over when everything got erased, but right around that time was when a lot of things happened in my life and my interests and priorities changed dramatically. Not to mention I was without computer/internet for about 2 years in that stretch.
