Film & TV Whats Your Fav 80's Movie?

#21
well i'd say if i were to rank those movies , the order would go like this: Platoon, Hamburger Hill, Apocalypse Now. it's an interesting look at the US's insistence (and almost constant failure) to take over hills occupied by the VC. they'd get halfway up the hill, and then get called back. the VC would regroup and the next day they had to retake the same part of the hill they just took the day before. hill 937, which this movie was about, became known as Hamburger Hill for the way it would chew men up and spit them back out. it kinda shows the folly of the whole war in the first place.

i dont like many 80s movies.. not really old enough to have watched them at the time, and i think older movies suck now. i guess scarface would have to be my favorite.

very well summarised, i will need to get a look at that movie now, i have to admitt i was never ever a fan of war movies, because i hated war, but it wasnt untill i saw this movie.

Casualties of War directed by Brian DePalma.
it was very shocking and touching movie that takes along time to shake of the memorys in your head. its still the most powerful war movie for me personally. Micheal J Fox and Sean Penn put on their best performances.

its an 80s Classic also.:)
