Major respect for that, homie :thumb: comin down on your weight like that. that takes some willpower. i never had problems cos im a skinny mofo (like 6'4 and under 165 pounds), but going from obese to normal to built (which i assume you are when you 5'11, 280+ and 12% fat) is good work.

i myself never did real muscle training when working out, i always preferred to work on endurance/stamina etc. (and combining it with strength excercises, like rowing-machines).

thanks homie.yea it really does take hard work and dedication.Sometimes you get to a point when you say fuck it,i have to do something about it

^ no if you look closely you will see that i only insulted him because he wrote a whole reply with nothing but insults to me, and one year is barely enough to go up that high, anyone who works out knows that. How do you expect me to provide facts about what he doesnt or does do?. and finally, as for you saying that the members agreed on that, ken is the one who pointed it out to me as he found it unbelievable in the first place, so that really doesn't mean anything. Look man i really couldn't care less what anyone on this board does or doesn't do, i just can't stand it when people make up their own realities, especially since we had that on this board more than once, and my main problem was with his insults as that is one thing i will not take from anyone. nevertheless like i said before each person here knows who and what they are in real life and thats what matters..so post whatever you want
p.s duke we are talking about barbells not dumbells..just so you 'do your homework'..:thumb:

That's not really relevant, whether it's a barbell or a dumbell. You got the point.

anyway, we're now bickering over barbells and dumbells so lets just say "fuck it", aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaight? :thumb:

yo, i must be a pussy, i just started and can only do 36 Kg, i need tips and fast :) any advice much appreciated
lol, no man your not a pussy. just keep working at it with someone who is knowledgable. Make sure you learn what your doing first otherwise you may end up doing more harm than good!

Secondly I agree with what most of Tourniet said.

Also never mind weightlifting, even running is bad for your bones, there's no excercise apart from swimming which isn't bad for your bones to some degree becasue of the stress exerted on your joints and muscles.

First off all, Duke, you said you are not into weightlifting, soI dunno if you can judge this guys reply.....

Anyway, I can't really believe you bigmack, just because the numbers you state are incredible high....so I'll do the same thing as I did before and ask for a pic, cause you gotta be huge if you can press that much, a pic really would help me believe. :)

it is actually relevant, when you're participating in a discussion like this, and not only taking sides, but negating someone's whole point of view saying its false, saying they are runnin their mouth, and that they sound stupid or whatever, when you have very limited info about the subject, in this case have never done any weightlifting, and use a sentence that reflects that you might not even know what we're talking about..anyway like you said we're arguing over nothing..i got my point accross in my first long post,i still stand by it..:thumb:

*sigh* all i contradicted you about was your false world record info. is 540 WAS the record, bigmacks story is hard to believe. but sinec the record is over 1k, bigmacks story is easy to believe. i never claimed i knew someting about body building which isnt common logic.

if u read up in a post i made i said i dont currently have a cam but i'll try to borrow one to take a picture real soon.

and NO you dont have to be huge if you can bench press that heavy weights. If you look at the weight lifting records,a 130lb individual did 470lbs, im more than double his size but lift the same. the guys my size are lifting up to 1k which is double of what i do.Since you are just talking out of your ass why dont you put your head in it instead.

225 lbs. but I can't squat for shit. BTW I'm 15 and I weigh 158 lbs. Just to give y'all a better picture. It's weird though b/c I don't look that big.

my info wasn't false, it is the record for a certain weight category.

and by the way bigmack..the world record in benchpress is 540 lbs...it was recently broken after being previously 520...it really doesn't do you any good, nor is it very admirable to lie on the internet...

So okay, it was not false. It is a worldrecord, but no the worldrecord, as you presented it.

So then your information was drastically incomplete.

"225 lbs. but I can't squat for shit. BTW I'm 15 and I weigh 158 lbs. Just to give y'all a better picture. It's weird though b/c I don't look that big."

here, this dude benches 1.42 times his own weight.

bigmack said he's about 290 pounds if i recall, he benches 470. That's 1.62 times his weight. The world record is 908 lbs by a guy up to 308 pounds. that's a whopping near three times his own weight. so biggymacky is nowhere near the performance of those professionals.

so c'mon, it isnt that unbelievable.

Duke, if you had done any weightlifting, you would know that even though there is a positive correlation between weight benched and the person's weight, given ofcourse the person trains frequently, the effect starts diminshing after a certain magnitude meaning you stop going up as fast as you did before( the next 200 are much harder to achieve than the first 200). and it doesnt just happen that if you weigh more that you just go in and bench more. the 1 year you mentioned is not enough for anything. you wanna know why i think its unbelievable? i have three instructors in my gym that have been training for a minimum of 10 years and have participated in competitions in nearly every one of those years and non of them benches 470lbs, the most i've seen them bench is around 450 and non of them weighs less than 300 pounds, so i am not just arguing for the sake of it.
