What can you bench press!!!

and by the way bigmack..the world record in benchpress is 540 lbs...it was recently broken after being previously 520...it really doesn't do you any good, nor is it very admirable to lie on the internet...

^ 600 lbs??? hehe dude there is not even space on the barbell to carry 600 lbs..
and anyone who knows anything about bodybuilding will tell you that doing 10 sets of anything is not uonly usless but harmful for the body..let alone doing it with 300 lbs..and 70 lbs on bicep curl is extremly normal and isnt at all difficult..

Everything is relative...if you have a naturally large build, then 300lbs. may or may not be "too much" depending on your body type...there's a guy at my school who NEVER works out, he's on varsity fb, and he comes in to max every couple months, last time he maxed at 310. He's perfectly perportional and can also leg press about 600-700lbs, this guy is just a beast.

^And to the second part, I think he meant 70lb with each arm, so 140, because 35 with each arm is certainly no extrodinary feat

^Word. I only play basketball, never lift weights, don't run for miles, or anything, and I can leg press 600-700lb easily.

the dude that said he benches 300lbs for 10 sets of 10 isnt lying either.I know small dudes who can pull it off and very doable.doing too heavy weights is not healthy? please.who told you this interesting piece of information, mothers against bodybuilding lol.you dont know your head from your ass.everyone ignore this troll who seems to think he knows everything.you're probably some 90 pound skeleton hiding behind his computer screen talkin shit.

Yeah, true...I know Arnold and some of his bodybuilder friends in "Pumping Iron" were doing some bench press sets with 700 some pounds (the 45lb bar was actually bending when they repped with it), and they don't even train for strength, they go for definition, obviously. so i can believe 540...bigmack, how much you weigh/height if you do not mind saying?

far from it, homie. the actual highest world record isalmost double that. like dude, said, your 540 is only a certain weight class.

http://www.powermagonline.com/latest-news/records.asp

look at the bench record for 300 pound plus category. guy benched 900 pounds.

i spent exactly 20 seconds finding this thru google, so before you run your mouth calling people liars do your homework. :thumb:

hey wassup. yeah you're right, Arnold and friends were not even strength training, they were only doing it for the appearance and for the shows and they can do serious benches.like i said, some of the people i go to the gym with do 600lbs.

i weight 289lbs now.

well i used to be about 500lbs,seriously obese. then i dropped down to 195. i looked like a toothpic. i felt like i was too small since all my life i was used to being big.then thats when i began bodybuilding and gained almost a hundred pounds of muscle over the years.my bodyfat % is around %12. and im 5'11.

hehe shut the fuck up you ignorant peice of shit, first of all the person who told me that is a Contender in the Uk National Bodybuilding Competition, and an international competitor, and has worked with Dorian Yates, if thats now enough for you, the other instructor that works in my gym has a university digree in physical education, and took body technology courses and says the same thing, so shut your ignorant mouth and keep your idocy and ignorance to yourself. Anyone who knows anything about bodybuilding would tell you that. ha are you retarted or something?'i can bench press ten of you' ha you sound like a 10 year old benighted kid trying to act hard. homie i have been working out four years and i gained around 50 pounds without the use of any supplement whatsoever as i needed to gain weight back then for basketball( i am a shooting guard) and i weight around 180 pounds now..which is good for my position, i dont need to showoff on the internet as i am sure of myself in real life, so get that big fat dick out your ass and stop acting hard. Afteall this is the internet and i cant do anything to you, but dont you ever fucking disrespect me again. 'troll', what are you 11 years old?? and i dont call people liars without having an educated opinion about their ideas and thoughts, anyone who knows anything about bodybuilding would know you are a liar.. at the end of the day homie every person know where they stand in life and what they are..and ha i think i am very sure of myself from life, and my surroundings i am not going to sit here and brag about the comments i have recieved over these years..so whatever you say man to make you feel better about yourself

and as for Duke, i dont go on running to research google every second someone posts something about it, i had that information because i read it once, and so what if its a different weight category, i saw the website you posted, and i think anyone who has any rational sense would know that there is a difference between people who dedicate their life to doing something and people who do it as a hobby, so before you run your mouth next time know what your talking about.

Now look here, i'm not trying to display my awesome googling skills and own your pathetic googling skills. But you claimed something as a fact, you actually attacked bigmack on it, when it was just completely false. Like i said, do your homework, and when you're proven wrong, be the bigger man and admit you were wrong instead of trying to save face by slinging insults around, which actually makes you more stupid. Nothing that bigmack said or claimed has big loopholes in it. It sounds believable, more so when you check the facts. Professionals in his weight class bench like seven to eighthundred. So when he "frequently" works out, around 500-plus is a very believable amount. You're going on the "i-know-better" trip, when nothing he said is untrue.

check yo'self, foo'

Major respect for that, homie :thumb: comin down on your weight like that. that takes some willpower. i never had problems cos im a skinny mofo (like 6'4 and under 165 pounds), but going from obese to normal to built (which i assume you are when you 5'11, 280+ and 12% fat) is good work.

i myself never did real muscle training when working out, i always preferred to work on endurance/stamina etc. (and combining it with strength excercises, like rowing-machines).

first of all i am not trying to throw insults at anybody, nor am i trying to make you or anyone sound stupid, what you said was true and i didnt try to negate it, dont get over excited and if you notice your the one who's been throwing insults Duke not me, so i am not the one who's sounding idiotic. I am not saying i know everything about workouts, i am a basketball player who works out, but i've been doing it for a very long time and managed to gain a sufficient amount of knowledge about it, i've been around this board for a long time now, and anyone who's read any of my posts knows that i wont attack anyone, disrespect anyone if they didnt do it first, and that i try to participate in intellectual discussions as much as possible. as for this matter, my opinions and statements were educated judgements, 470 pounds is almost 5 45 plates on each side of the barbell, which sounds highly unlikely to me, go dig out whatever peices of information you want about professional power lifters, it still doesn't compare to normal people like us.

I havent, save the "foo", insulted you, you're the one who has been calling the other dude names.

But that's beside the point. It may sound unlikely to you, perhaps your dumbells bend (it never occured to you bigmack may be using different equipment? ), but the factual evidence didn't support your side. So why go through on it?

And besides that, he's been saying he works out frequently for over a year. if he does it properly, which i assume he does, the figures he speaks off are not at all fat-fetched. many other members in this thread have corroborated this. when you work out more you get stronger. which means you can bench more, which means they need a bigger dumbell.

there, problem solved. really, i don't see the problem you apparently see.

^ no if you look closely you will see that i only insulted him because he wrote a whole reply with nothing but insults to me, and one year is barely enough to go up that high, anyone who works out knows that. How do you expect me to provide facts about what he doesnt or does do?. and finally, as for you saying that the members agreed on that, ken is the one who pointed it out to me as he found it unbelievable in the first place, so that really doesn't mean anything. Look man i really couldn't care less what anyone on this board does or doesn't do, i just can't stand it when people make up their own realities, especially since we had that on this board more than once, and my main problem was with his insults as that is one thing i will not take from anyone. nevertheless like i said before each person here knows who and what they are in real life and thats what matters..so post whatever you want
p.s duke we are talking about barbells not dumbells..just so you 'do your homework'..:thumb:
