Nuclear energy, an atom split in half and the results are catastrophic. Perhaps the strongest weapon we have in this life, outside a neutron bomb which can be equally as powerful just not as widespread. Now what happens when man eventually does the inevitable and harnessess the energy of anti-matter and regular matter together? The results?.. lol.

If Anti-matter can be formed into a blackhole which has such power and force I think within the next 100years man, humans are fucked because afterall with our curiosity it's only a matter of time.

I heard and reac scientist are already working on such weapons using such theories.

Yeah, I've read in an article that the US military has been researching into anti-matter technology.

I guess in a sense though, there are limited positives such as the fact that an explosion would not emit radioactive waves. So even though the sheer capacity far destruction is more substantial on account of the annihilative power, it does not contaminate like nuclear bombs do... This is countered by the fact that such technology is rarely put to use... it's really only for deterrence purposes, so what effects are caused are arguably irrelevant.

One downside there is problems with storage... anti matter seems more unpredictable, in the sense that you can dismantle a nuclear weapon, but can you do the same with particles....the reliance on magnetic fields, seems to me, kind of dodgy and unstable.

Like they say, you cant un-invent technology, once created we live with it.... so you really have to question whether the benefits outweigh the risks.... when talking about the most destructive source of energy... ooh I dunno, kinda scares me to be honest.
