I didn't think it could be done, but ths looks IN-FUCKING-CREDIBLE. It's my favorite comic series ever, and I was blown away by the trailer.

It'll be in front of Dark Knight, and just like that here's my most anticpated film of 2009.

Also, check out my sig, that awesome line makes in it.

I don't even know this comic series, what's it about?

It was a 12 issue mini-series written by Alan Moore (he also wrote V For Vendetta, Batman: The Killing Joke) and illustrated by Dave Gibbons, it pretty much made the graphic novel popular, or at least coined the phrase.

Jacked from Wikipedia:

Watchmen is set in 1985, in an alternative history United States where costumed adventurers are real and the country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union (the Doomsday Clock is at five minutes to midnight). It tells the story of a group of past and present superheroes and the events surrounding the mysterious murder of one of their own. Watchmen depicts superheroes as real people who must confront ethical and personal issues, who struggle with neuroses and failings, and who - with one notable exception - lack anything recognizable as super powers. Watchmen's deconstruction of the conventional superhero archetype, combined with its innovative adaptation of cinematic techniques and heavy use of symbolism, multi-layered dialogue, and metafiction, has influenced both comics and film.
I highly suggest reading the book before seeing the movie, especially after reading in an interview that the climax has been changed up a bit.

and thank you SOFI. :D

i dont mind if they change the plot's climax, gives me more interest to actually go see this for my self., since i read the graphic novel, it would be cool to have some surprise elements, its not that fun when you know the whole plot.

I've seen it and I liked it. I saw it when my neighbour buddy and he said his mates criticized it for being "vague" or whatever, but we did not share this sentiment.

I thought the general story was cool, like reality but with a slight twist. The superheroes had identifiable characters, Dr Manhattan is WAY cool as distant freak, and I loved the fact that there was no really obvious bad guy.

Most of all, I enjoyed that the movie didn't end up in bullshit Hollywood cliches or happy endings. They did their own thing, stayed true to the comic.

Excellent :thumb: 8.5/10 imo

I heard the movie was excessively long. I guess for the regular people who are not fans (ex: me) it must be long and not necessarily all relevant. I didn't see it tho.

If you're a fan of the graphic novel then this movie wont be as good. I think everyone knew it was never going to live up the genius of the novel but it's ok.

It's fucked up how they water down every Alan Moore graphic novel. No wonder he always blashes every director that takes on one of his stories. He says he'll never watch them too lol
