Tupac's Name Change

With Tupac being born Leesane Crooks, and his relations having the same surname as him now: Afeni Shakur, Mutulu Shakur, Assata Shakur - (blood/non blood), does that mean Pac's family changed their surname aswell, or did Afeni get married or what? It doesn't make sense.

I think LeSane was his second name (with Crooks) and Parish was the name.

You ask me why? Ok, then watch Resurrection special features where you got Pac cousins and guess what... Their last name is LeSane - I don't think it's a coincidence

There are plenty of people with Lesane last name (mostly living on the East Coast) and I haven't found nobody that has LaSane as a name only last name

I guess that clears something up

naw man. Lesane got changed to Tupac when he was super young...obviously way before he made it big...but then again, if its in "trapped" (thus not Makaveli) then what else could it be tho. So i guess you got me there...

Are you sure LeSane is Tupac's OG first name?

Look at my post above in this thread, LeSane is the LAST NAME that Pac cousins have (look at Resurrection DVD extras goddamnit!), you think it's a coincidence? Also, please can you give me example of another man with Lesane as a first name? (something I could check, please)

You're right, that's what I said in 03 or 04. If you check the Resurrection book (A Raisin' in the sun poster) you can see that 2Pacs cousin's name is Scott Lesane. There's also another picture of Scott Lesane in the book.

But where did the name came from? Afenis name was Williams, Billy's name was Garland... Mutulos name was... ? Assatas name was JoAnee Deborah Byron, later married Chesimard.

Theres no Lesane or Crooks available in his family...
