Ironically, I just had a friend over here and I called him to check out this thread because he is a Chef and went to a culinary school.

At his school, they did a survey of what topping are generally accepted by consumers on a sandwich. Around 65% of people did not like onions on their sandwhich. 5% of the people did not like tomatoes. Therefore, 95% of people did like tomatoes which leaves you in the minority. So, yes, it's right for them to assume everyone likes tomatoes

Loads of people say Tomato (tom-ar-toe), and other people say (tom-ar-ter). I always say Tomater. Probably slang I've picked up, don't know.

Well I don't like tomatoes too much but I don't hate them. And if a sandwich got a tomato in there, I just eat it anyway, no big deal.

I hate them also. All the places here you can get them without the tomato with no problem.

tomatoes in salad and also in a sandwich taste gross. Only "cooked " on a pizza is acceptable.

yeah if it is smooth i can eat it, tomato soup is ok, but if it had real tomatoes in it i won't eat it

As much as I like them, tomato soup is the worst thing ever.........ugh
