I'm tired all the time. Every day. It's just a question of whether or not I'm tired, really tired, or exhausted. I always just assumed it was because I'm someone who requires a lot of sleep in order to feel well rested. But I was mentioning it to someone the other day at work and they asked me how often I eat fruits or vegetables. I hadn't really thought about it, but when I did, I realized that I only eat them a couple times a month. My diet isn't very good. It consists mostly of steak, pork, hamburger, ham, salmon, french fries, rice, cereal, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, milk, water and soda. So I'm thinking that's the reason, at least partially, while I'm continually tired. I'm thinking of taking vitamins although I really don't like taking pills. This can't be too healthy.

It really is all what you eat. Eat healthy, feel healthy. Alot of fat and sugar makes your sluggish, ever eat McDonalds or anything similar during work and you feel like dragging ass afterwards? That's why.

haha my diet is terrible, i dont even want to think about it.

eating healthy has always been this great idea of mine...

That is fucking digusting man. Sorry to be rude or patronising, but that is just horrible.

Cut the steak, pork, hamburger, ham, salmon, french fries, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, milk and soda. ALL that shit is real bad for you. I'm surprised you're not morbidly obese and always constipated as well as being tired. You ever heard of a show called "You Are What You Eat". Don't know if you guys get it over there. But you should watch it. There's a few videos here.

Eat more rice. That's good. Cereal is good. Water is obviously a must, most people don't drink enough, you need 5 pints a day.

Find some vegetables you like and some fruits. I eat stuff like spinach, lentils, peas, green beans. brocolli, pineapple, green apple, limes, red grapes.

I used to be tired all the time, then I gave up meat. That was what was making me tired and also my health improved since I stopped eating it.

i have this problem sometimes....dont take any pills trust me man...what i was doing was going out with my friends like 24/7...at the begining of the summer i was out with my friends 24/7..i was barly at home...barly slept...i was always out...and i was either at work...make sure u keep urself busy....a man only should have 6 hours of sleep...but sometimes i fuck myself over if i dont sleep properly for a few days....like today believe it or not..i slept for 15 hours almost in the day time cause yesterday i barly got any sleep and today either...so thats what happend....and other days i sleep for a 2 - 4 hours and im just fine throughout the day...the only thing i dont like about sleeping so much is the headache when i wake up..and the dreams...sometimes good dreams..sometimes bad dreams...and i hate that.....

but this all depends in what ur doing while ur tired. if ur just sitting there on the computer or watching tv...ull be like oh damn im tired....

ive been trying to stick with a schedual..i think it would benifit u to do the same if ur already not on one..

oh ya and a fact is that eating outside food makes u feel tired.....ive been trying to eat more healthier a little more then usual..but not really lol... but anyways...

as long as your on top of your priorities in life dont worry about it too much.....

is ur sleeping pattern messed up sometimes too? cause sometimes mine is...from what i just told u i hope u can tell

Don't know if anyone already suggested it, but get your blood cell percentage checked out. A low blood cell count can have a tiring effect on the body and is not really dangerous.

^yeah but meat is good.

wrong. you know when an animal gets killed? the body releases all the chemicals, enzymes, all that stuff in every organ, as a defense mechanism, all around the body, in shock. Excuse me if I don't want to eat that.

Animal source proteins are considered superior by the medical establishment because they are:

(A). High in protein content. (Actually they have too much protein, which is then stored in the body as a toxin.)

(B). Complete Proteins: (Although this is true, this is not necessarily advantageous, since animal source proteins have the following disadvantages:)

1. They are difficult to digest; More energy is required to digest meat than can be obtained from the meat. This wears out the protein digestive organs, and leads to stressful indigestion.

2. The body's attempt to rid itself of the excess protein congests the liver and overworks the kidneys which have to expel the excess nitrogen through urine. People with kidney disease are urged to eat low protein diets. Perhaps eating a low protein diet to begin with would PREVENT kidney disease. Excessive protein consumption is also linked to Urinary disease, Renal cancer and Lymphosarcoma.

3. Animal source proteins are not a real food - they are missing some of the ingredients of real food.

4. Animal proteins contain inorganic acids which are TOXIC to humans. Only modest amounts of animal protein have been found to result in cancerous tumors in animal studies. Moreover, human studies also support this carcinogenic effect of animal protein, even at usual levels of consumption. In my view, no chemical carcinogen is nearly so important in causing human cancer as animal protein. (Dr. T Colin Campbell M.S., Ph.D. Nutrition Advocate Vol. 1 No.6 December 1995.)

5. Meat is high in fat. Dr. Benjamin Spock M.D. Says that a high fat diet, which means eating relatively large amounts of meat, dairy products, and fried foods, is the main cause of arteriosclerosis, coronary heart disease, stroke, certain forms of cancer, and obesity. (not good).

6. The artificial hormones, steroids, and other chemicals injected or fed to the animal to make them grow faster/bigger don't do us humans any good at all; they are toxic.

7. The U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC), Enteric Diseases Branch, has concluded that subtherapeutic amounts of antibiotics added to animal stock feed have subsequently caused animals to develop highly resistant strains of bacteria (mutant forms of E. coli and others) which are then passed on for human consumption in all meat products. In fact it's estimated that 20-25 percent of all bacterial illnesses (and perhaps 50% of all food poisoning) in the U.S. stem directly from antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria and the consumption of meats. (New England Journal of Medicine Vol 243, p.617-621, 1984)

The response of the European Economic Community to the routine feeding of antibiotics to U.S. livestock (55% of all antibiotics used in the US) was to BAN the importation of U.S. meat. So the answer to the question: "What's for Dinner?" is: Antibiotics, Steroids, Pesticides, DDT, Dieldrin, bacteria and Cholesterol. . . . . . . . . Yum!

Take a piece of steak. Cut it open and the juice runs out right? and it's nice and juicey and tender looking? We know that the red fluid is BLOOD, right? and you dunk your bread in it. There is a clear fluid there too...now some of it is fat, and water, but one of the main components of that clear fluid is uric acid...(cow pee). And you dunk your bread in it....why do you do that?

By the way, the old advice that your hamburger is safe if it's brown in the middle is WRONG. Unless you want to feed your family raw E. coli bacteria, you should use a digital meat thermometer, and be certain the interior of the hamburger is 160 degrees F. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in January 99 that the DEATH TOLL from tainted meat from just one farm has risen to 12 people.

OK, I'll just eat CHICKEN:

30 to 50% of supermarket chickens are contaminated with salmonella (which can survive microwave cooking). Almost 100% contain campylobacter pathogens; look that one up!

One day just PULL THE PLUG on your freezer, but don't open it for three to five days. When you open the door it will smell. The stink you smell is the smell of death. Your Freezer is sealed pretty well isn't it? Nothing can get in or out when the door is closed, but you will not be alone in the room. In your freezer will be maggots and worms. Where did they come from? The maggots and the worms were in the meat! and you EAT them....Why do you do that.?

Vegetable source proteins are good for us, easy to digest, and can supply all our nutritional needs.

BUT when you eat meat, the body regards most of it as a toxin, so it depletes the immune system to get the enzymes to try & handle the problem, steals calcium (osteoporososis) from the tissues and bones to neutralize the phosphoric acid, and speeds up the metabolism to rid itself of this junk...why do you do that?

Is it worth it? is TASTE your overriding concern?

Do you live to eat ?

or

do you eat to live?

Most Americans live to eat. They are controlled by a six inch long organ.
If you identify with that, (your tongue, silly!) you may want to re-think your priorities in life.
Pound for Pound, hamburgers cost more than new cars, so give up hamburgers and get a new car instead!.

I don't like to judge people, everyone has their own right to do what they want regardless of if they know the truth or not....i just feel that most people don't and should know. the idea of meat consumption, when I think about it, is nothing short of sickening.

i don't eat meat because of some deeper understanding of how good it is for me, i put it in my mouth, it tastes nice, i chew it, it feels nice.

Hitler thought the massacre of millions of people felt nice.

We never have problem in tired ness eat meat all fuckin time fruits vegetable too I live baby

Yea start eating more vegetables and as Glockmatic said, cut back on sugar.

I go through periods where i dont eat much fruit and veg(i forget or dont have time) and im usually tired alot during these periods.

LOL, that's okay. I realize my eating habits are unhealthy or else I wouldn't have made a thread about being tired all the time and how my diet is probably a part of that. However, not only am I not obese, I may be a little bit underweight. I am 6'1'' and 158 lbs. Although I don't eat very good, I don't eat very much in a day. Most days, I only have two meals and the days that I have three are very small ones. Sometimes I only eat dinner, which I know is unhealthy also.

It would be difficult for me to get in a normal eating/sleeping schedule because the way my job works, I have different shifts everyday and different days off every week. I usually end up getting as little as 5 hours of sleep a couple nights and being so tired that i get at least 10 hours of sleep on my day off.

Also, you are a vegetarian and it seems like you have a bias against meat. I think that not eating meat is very unhealthy and unnatural.

I would also like to add that unlike most Americans, I don't like to eat. I look at eating as something that I have to do because I'm hungry and uncomfortable if I don't. I look at eating as an inconvenience. You have to spend money for food, spend time eating it, do dishes afterwards maybe. I really dislike the whole process.
