Easy, Thug Life. Every track on that CD is a classic, and you can't listen to it without skippin anything. On Still I Rise, they massacred a couple of the tracks so, compared to the OGs, they were impossible to listen to.

Let me be the first to disagree.

Still I Rise!!

First of all, the Pac from Thug Life was a dope artist who still trying to find himself.....the Pac from Still I Rise was at the peak of his powers. HUGE difference.

Plus, the beats on Still I Rise are better for the most part. Tear Drops and Closed Caskets, Mr. President, The Good Die Young, Black Jesuz, are all just as good if not better than any of the songs on TL.

Not to discredit Thug Life....its an underrated album. But you cant really compare a Pac in the middle of his career in 94' to the one who was basically untouchable at his peak in 96'.

this is kinda of unfair poll......because pac was already dead when Still I Rise was released and also cut out some verses from the original Outlaw members (Hussein-still i rise, ucbt, black jesus, Kadafi-hell 4 a hustler, Big Syke-letter 2 president)

but sales wise Still I Rise did better 2x platinum while Thug Life just went gold. I think potentially Still Rise should be the better album more tracks and pretty good remixes. But I gotta go with Thug Life Str8 Ballin' and Cradle 2 Grave just kicks ass. Thug Life would have been the shit if pac didn't go to jail.

thug life was released in 94 while pac was growin and becomin more established
still i rise was released in 99 by then tupac was a legend.
that answers the diffenerne of sales.

i voted TL. if this had been a 15 song LP just like SIR it would have been dope and no comparison would be held

I see your point but you cant really use the sales argument....AEOM is Pac's highest selling album, but its an overwhelming consensus here that its not his best album.

Still I Rise is better not because it sold more, but because it featured a Pac in his prime, where TL was a younger, still growing artist that was one of the best in the game but not on the same level as the legend that he became in 96'.

wouldnt you all agree still i rise in OG form would beat thuglife though?

If SOME of the songs were in og form. Some of the album versions are better then the originals but it depends on the song.

In either case, I prefer Still I Rise for reasons I already mentioned.

TL is definatly a nice album, and is rather underrated, but as I said before, this album was a Pac who was still trying to find himself. He was already an extradordianry songwriter, but he wasnt at his peak yet.

Still I Rise has alot of songs that were made close to or even during the 7 Day Theory sessions, an time that I (and most veteran Pac heads in general) consider to be his untouchable prime. Those last 2 months of his life, he was on another level. I mean, he was the shit in 94' too, but he wasnt making mind shattering songs like "Tear Drops & Closed Caskets", "Hail Mary", "Starin Through My Rear View", "Blasphemy"...etc etc

Im a die hard Pac fan. I got an apprecitaion for ALL eras in his career, but the last 2 months were something special.
