I think I'll go see this soon.
That looks great. I will be urging people to see it. Hopefully it's getting a wide theatrical release.
Defensive meat and dairy-eaters will deny it up and down.
But what the people are saying in that trailer is absolutely true, and it can all be backed up with statistics (the comparison to traditional eastern diets is a great one). Many forms of cancer, and things like heart disease, diabetes and obesity are practically non-existent in cultures of plant-based diets. This is a fact. Osteoporosis is non-existent in cultures that do not consume cow's milk, and extremely prevalent in the cultures where cow's milk is drank heavily. It's a completely ineffective calcium source and the dairy farms spend billions annually trying to convince people of the exact opposite.
I don't look at veganism as being some sort of elitist club where we've figured out all the answers and are therefore allowed to be completely condescending to everyone else. If people don't want to hear truth and facts from me, fine. If people are happy knowingly being at a far bigger risk of cancers, heart disease, diabetes, obesity and all sort of other things, fine. But unfortunately most people simply don't know. And while the knowingly ignorant are the most frustrating, they're still the minority and I don't say the things I say for their benefit.
Something I usually tell people, is, next time you go grocery shopping, just take a mental note of all the things in the store that are either the flesh or by-product of an animal, and ponder the implications. This works because the more animal products you consume, the unhealthier you generally are. There's a clear correlation, and most people tend to be quite shocked by this.
