I think the whole thing is wild, but in my culture the way we respond to police is very different. I would have just gotten out of the car and shown my ID and then be on my way when they cleared me. But I know in the US the opposite is true, people take sport in "owning" police officers. I've always wondered how police are supposed to function effectively if they can't control check their hunches and suspicions. I don't understand why people refuse to identify themselves. If she was not an illegal immigrant and did not possess illegal drugs and otherwise had nothing to fear, what could they do once she exited the car? Just follow their instructions and let them figure out what they are trying to figure out and then you can move along.

It's an odd obsession with her being a lesbian. I did not watch the video and I'm not sure what exactly happened other than seeing screenshots of "wheel position" of her car and whether she was trying to run someone over.

It's all political fodder. Yes, someone losing their life is just fodder. Just like George Floyd.

I thought Trump's assassination attempt was the last straw that would make people take pause and re-evaluate themselves. Then I thought the actual assassination of Charlie Kirk would make people pause. Nah. We're inching closer to being a failed state and some Lord of the Flies shit. This is so weird.

Is that the wife? That starts saying "shaaaame, shaaaame, shaaaame" after they killed her spouse? Based on her reaction i assumed she was a random bystander that got involved. Otherwise agree with your sentiment.

This is true. But neither side wants to say two things can be true here because both sides are using this as a proxy for the fight over whether ICE is doing normal law enforcement work or something more fascist & extreme. So MAGA won't say there was a problem with the shooting, even if they think there was. And vice versa.

Yes, this woman had issues. Yes, she was utterly naïve and careless and, given who these guys were, should have expected to be shot or deported if she kept up her shit. Her biggest mistake was thinking ICE officers cared about her civil rights or would be held accountable for their bad actions under Trump. But telling these activists that they shouldn't be there or antagonize is like telling them to just be good Germans, let their country go to hell. Wear a pin or something. This shooting will only bring more troubled activists out to interfere and more incidents will happen.

(CNN) Actor Kiefer Sutherland was arrested on suspicion of criminal threats early Monday morning after Los Angeles police say he assaulted a ride-hail driver.

Just after midnight, officers responded to a call reporting an assault at an intersection just south of Hollywood Hills. The Los Angeles Police Department said they determined Sutherland entered a ride-hail vehicle, physically assaulted the driver and “made criminal threats toward the victim.” The driver did not require medical treatment, police said.

Sutherland was arrested and released from jail a few hours later on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records. His first court appearance is scheduled for February 2.


They're making a new "24" season with him soon. I can't wait to see this incident on there.
