Anyone else think Britney Spears is a lot worse off after her conservatorship ended than she was for the last, like 15 years prior to it? She's making headlines for doing some real stupid things on camera/social media and in real life whereas we didn't hear shit from the late 2000s until a year or two ago.

I feel like she is doing all the stuff she wanted to do and couldn't do when she had the conservatorship, social media wasn't as huge before she went in it as it is now

I was discussing holiday gifts with my friends as they try to figure out what to get their wives. I suggested finding what the trendy items were, particularly for women, and to just get those. Then I realized that with TikTok and other social media platforms, trends are usually on those platforms and in the form of doing some sort of challenge or silly prank.

There doesn't seem to be an item that's trendy in the past few years. Some times it was a toy for kids, or some tech item for adults. Maybe something related to fashion be it a specific type of article of clothing or a specific brand.

It feels like we've become less material, which is good, but still put the same amount of effort and craziness in to social media trends.

Or maybe I'm just out of touch. Or growing older. I don't know.

I think the most trendy item for wives this year is like a 3day getaway away from hubby and kids.

I get my mainstream news from Yahoo. ('cause it works!) and they usually have silly ads like "check out this toothbrush that Oprah uses. it's down to $17". Bitches will eat it up.

Remember Fidgets? Back in my day it was called picking up a stick on the ground.

The "in-touch" money makers pick their targets. Young Girls - put a chain of materialism early so they won't even notice the chain they're dragging.

I feel like the "system" has become more material. Fear is what sells and I think we have lots of fears right now. Hoarding and Flighting makes us feel safer.

I think the cameras/sensors built into cars by law here is turing me into a bad driver. I don't like it when it engages the brakes when I don't need it.

I traveled too much last year. Got a break this month then back out Jan through most of next year. 2025-26 will be a rest time, I believe. I don't make resolutions but I'm planning to regulate my sleep better next year. This week hardly felt like Christmas. Everyone's worried about everything, I guess.

I heard that flight attendants in EU are regulated on how many hours they can fly (due to more cosmic radiation in the upper atmosphere and higher occurrence of breast cancer in female attendants?) but they are not regulated in the US. Is this true?

I kind of do. New Year's obviously no different than any other day but it's a time for reflection and if that leads to a need to improve/change something, that's great. I usually won't hold myself to implementing it right away though as the change itself might be difficult, my plate is full or both. So no pressure, keep it in the back of my mind and try to do it when I'm ready, guilt free.

So I will stop lighting homeless people on fire... when I feel ready!

Yes to all of that. I’m a sucker for tradition. It made my Mom heart proud when my son took the lead on two of our Christmas traditions and had his own ideas about switching them up.
