This is my thread

I saw the thing about it on Reddit, and soon afterwards ( a few hours later) the front page had a post where a rep said there weren't going to be bannings solely for using a VPN. It would have to be another reason in conjunction with it.

In the original post talking about the possibility, a lot of commentors speculated that it was just something Netflix posted in its terms and policies just to appease the studios and that they wouldn't really do it. So many people benefit from VPNs, including those that have their Netflix bandwidth throttled by their ISPs. So they use a VPN, perhaps with no region switching, and it goes from like 5 Mbps and back to their original bandwidth (one guy screen capped the difference from 5 Mbps to 80Mbps on a VPN).

They would lose a lot of subscribers by doing this. From what I understand, the US still has the largest selection of titles, but not necessarily the most desirable. I would be one of those people. A lot of US shows are on international subscriptions, hence why I switch my region. But it's the people in the other regions that want the expansive selection the US gets, instead of all the seasons of a few shows they already watch.

I can't complain either way. I am using someone's account, so I am as courteous as can be in not rating stuff or adding stuff the queues. If there is a legit threat to banning over using Hola, I'll just take it off and go back to torrenting. Fuck the studios.

Also, man that Saul finale last night was weird. Emotional towards the end, especially with his lady friend (dunno her name, Kelly?) called him with the news. And then what happened to Marco. And then Saul getting right to the front steps of his big pay day before saying 'fuck it.'

Some discussion threads drew some parallels/allusions to BrBa, like how he got his ring (Marco).

Felt like the season started only like a month ago. Any word on when season 2 drops?

Only if they can detect the VPN. Al Jazeera Sport (now known as BEIN) have been trying to ban users from overseas for years. It is part of the agreement with the EPL to show PremierLeague football. If you pay for a decent vpn, you should be fine. If you use Hola, maybe not.

I use netflx and the similar as a backup for when I want to watch something I don't own. The quality is acceptable, but not comparable with a full 1080 rip. It's the lack of bandwidth. I usually have films or Tv shows on my server that I am interested in.

Is Netflix not in 1080? Or are you saying your home bandwidth isn't enough to get Netflix in 1080?

Well.... Netflix does the resolution, the 1080 part of it. It will do 4k soon too, if not already - But I don't have a 4k TV yet.

It's to do with the bandwidth. Netflix compresses the file to get it to stream smoothly. It still looks good-ish. And if I use netflix exclusively for a couple of weeks, I forget. But when I watch a bluray rip again, the extra detail compared to what I watched on netflix is all too apparent. Same with audio. If I am watching in stereo, no problem. If I hook it up to Dolby HD, then it is very noticeable. On a bluray, about 10% of the data can be audio. That wouldn't be easy to stream, so they don't. One day we'll all have fibre to the house and we'll be able to stream it all. Until then, I mix it up.

I have an IPTV system that I watch the sport on. And it's good, especially the 1080p NBCSN channel. But it's not comparable to broadcast HD.

I see. About the 4K, I think House of Cards, starting with season 2, was available in 4K. I was watching on my iPad, so it's resolution is better with the Retina display than on my 2010 13" MBP, but it still wasn't 4K obviously.

When it comes to buying a TV today, is a refresh rate about 120hz worth it? I know they have 240hz, but that tends to be on 4K TVs, I think?

Boston is awesome. I used to live there a long time ago. Such a small city, I love it.
You have to eat Anna's Taqueria. Best Mexican food, ever.

Tell me where you are staying and whatnot. I know that city like I know the back of my palm.
Tell what you want to do and I'll tell you where to go.

Btw did you text me on snapchat yesterday saying "does this work?" - it does and I responded back.

Ha Ha. I did. My snapchat is playing up. And Keco has either got issues, or blocked me. Damn my penis pics.

I am staying in the Colonnade Hotel. I have no plans besides attending the boxing on 23rd May. I am there from Thursday until Monday.

Very nice hotel - right in the heart of Boston. Right near Copley center - malls and bars and stuff.
What do you want to do there?
First time there? I'm assuming you want to see the tourist spots?
Try texting me on snap - see if it works for you.
