This is my thread

I dunno how you people listen to hip hop these days. I can't listen to most albums all the way through because I get bored.

I'm pretty sure if I took the time to clean up my iTunes library from all the albums I downloaded the past two years, I would only have three or four albums left, after downloading almost every album that intrigued me in that time, just to give it a shot.

Beats are lame and now people are trying to be too lyrical. Or they rap about stupid shit in an attempt to avoid rapping about cars and money and all that shit.

I think hip hop today is white washed black folks.

My 2 years ran up a couple months ago

I think it's still $30 to renew for two years as a student, compared to $70 everyone else has to pay.

Maybe do that.

What headphones do you guys use to listen to music? Not on the go, but at home, to really enjoy it. Surely computer speakers don't cut it.

i went to bingiton.com after seeing the commercial for it because i was bored and bing won 3 out of 5 rounds for me, not gonna switch but still.

fuck, i forgot to search for porn

I still buy albums. But buy very few these days. I find myself listening to more and more music from 60s, 70s and 90s. I am looking to buy a tube amp and a decent turntable. Bring life to great music rather than persevering with the disposable music of today's generation. Some great music out there still being made, but people have attention spans of 15 seconds.

I will never listen to music on my computer. I usually stream it to my stereo via my squeezebox. I do have a decent set of headphones, but don't use them very often.

I am trying to get more of my music in 24bit rips, which is not widely available. I guess there isn't much of a demand for it. Dr Dre mentioned a few years ago that he was keen to get 24 bit music out there to the masses. That's how he records and mixes it, then it is reduced to 16 bit so that it can be stuck on a CD. There are some high fidelity digital rips available. But they're not cheap.

If you want an invite to What.cd, I can hook you up. There's plenty of 24 bit albums there. The site you linked to seems to charge for downloads, which is the trade off to maintaining a ratio on What.cd.

I find listening to music through headphones is the only way to really get me to listen to an album. If it's through my computer speakers, I tend to be doing something else on the computer and so my mind is not 100% in it. With headphones, I can do some work off the computer and still maintain listening focus.

I guess I do have that attention span of 15 seconds you speak of. I try to change it, but I've said many times before on here that the music is what gets me first, not the lyrics. If it's a beat that can evoke an emotion or a mind state for me, I'll stick around for it. But if it's a beat that's produced in a certain way (and I can't quite explain the types of beats that make me lose interest almost instantly) then I tend to skip the track and sometimes that makes me fly through the album in less than two minutes, never to look back again.

I realize I miss good albums this way, but I feel like its a chore to listen to an album all the way through, sometimes.

I sent cupcakes to my ex for his birthday but we broke up and I can't cancel the order. Is it stealing if I bought them? They'll be delivered tomorrow. I'm really craving cupcakes and its pissing me off that he's going to get this delicious assortment.

Try putting more cupcakes, instead of dicks, in your mouth and you won't have this problem.

Got it. I don't use it much but I'll make an effort to send you something interesting.

Share it then, Aron...!

Anyone in the USA interested in a Tesla Model S. I'm thinking of getting one when they come to the UK. Although the price difference in what we have to pay, compared to what you pay, is somewhat annoying.

They're nice, fast cars. There's the whole debacle with them not having dealerships and selling directly to buyers that's going through the courts right now.

Dealerships have their panties in a bunch because they're going to be rendered useless if other manufacturers follow suit.
