I think it was on either Monday or Tuesday on Funkmaster Flex, this girl called up the station and requested 2pac and said how come this station never plays 2pac. Funkmaster Flex said im not a 2pac fan but i might play a little 2pac later if i feel like it then hung up. Then he said forget that i might play 2pac next year or something then he played Damien Marley welcome 2 Jamrock. He was acting stupid but when pac was alive didn't he say Funkmaster Flex would diss him all the time while he was in jail?

Don't mind Funkmaster Flex. He has been hating on 2pac ever since he was voted "The Greatest MC of All Time" on BET's Countdown. 2pac was #1 and Biggie was #3 and since then he's only played the video singles off his posthumous albums and that has been it. In previous years before that countdown he used to play a series of Pac songs like "Shed So Many Tears", "How Do U Want It", "I get Around" and so forth and then he would end it off by bombing the tracks and playing Biggie songs afterwards all night. The thing is he is biased towards Pac because he believes Biggie is the greatest mc of all time. Everyday he plays a biggie song. He even plays the MSG freestyle and skips Pac's verse all the time.
Pac actually said Flex was apart of radio commercials making fun of the westcoasts but I don't think there has been actual bad blood between Flex and Pac, but I do believe he is playing jealousy on Pac on behalf of Biggie. It's not even only Pac he does that too though, he does that to plenty of artists. Nas is included especially after Nas had dissed him. So far, the only artists, he seems to put time in are Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, G-Unit, and sometimes D-Block. I hate to say it, but NY radio, NY dj's and especially Hot 97 act like Biggie & Jay-Z is the greatest thing and because of that they discriminate on Pac and his music. It's not the first time that listeners have called up the station and made a complaint about not hearing enough Pac on that station.

agreed very much. NY listeners have been complaining about Pac not getting fair play for years. I remember not too long ago a listener calling up the Miss Jones show and blasting the music director for always glorifying Biggie and then saying that Pac gets no love even though he is the better artists. Funk Flex is a true hater by the way because even when he throws back songs from the 92-96 era, he'll play everything westcoasts sometimes starting from the NWA then going into the many hits of the deathrow era from Snoop's Doggystyle hits, Dre's many hits, Westide connection, and will never play a Pac song even though he was very essential in that era.

...yet funk flex "embraces" west coast culture with his stupid little wannabe pimp my ride show. oh, and he used the msg freestyle as the main promotional point of his weak "the tunnel" album. he's just mad that god cursed him with a voice that's even more irritating than clue's and the complete inability to mix or "dj" for that matter. he should be called dj LP version flex.

Well So far on the 13th of september DJ Enuff played "Ambitionz Az A Ridah" and that was about it. At least Kay Slay, Whoo Kid, and sometimes Green Lantern and Mr.Cee are fair enough and give every artists their shine. I remembered Kay Slay played "Don't Go 2 Sleep" and "First 2 Bomb", the Daz versions on Hot 97. It was sick!!

But I have to tell the guy Dante that Flex definately embraces the west because he usually plays a line of westcoasts stuff from Exzhibit, Snoop, Game, Guerilla Black, Dre, Dogg Pound, and plenty of south. The only thing he doesn't play is 2pac and plenty of New York artists whether seasoned and up and coming artists.

^I think Kay Slay's voice is a little more annoying, considering he always has to shout out people no one knows on the best part of the song.

haha quite true homie, i think flex's voice is more annoying though, he sounds like a pumped up gay gerbil,

Yeah Flex Is One Of The Worst Dj's All He Does Is Suck Certain Artist's Dicks He Aint About Fairness At All. But I Don't Even Fuck Wit flex So I don't Care His Albums Are Garbage Anyway When You Compare Them To Dj Clues & Dj Kay Slays Albums. Drop a Bomb 2 That Bitch :p

They played pac thru out the day here in the bay area on the 13th. I didn't listen all day but they played a bunch of his music along with tribute mixes. I would say they play pac at least once a day every day.

maybe its a different station, but there one caleed "beat" or something like that i think its 100.3

they played Hail mary and then started playing 3 cuts of biggie songs.

believe it or not, not everyone loves Pacs music. Its just a matter of taste. Don't hate someone for not liking Pacs music.

He's being hated on because he's not giving certain artists their due, especially 2pac. And at the same time he is repeatedly playing artists that he favors over and over. What he's doing is corrupt. He's on the radio. If the listeners request 2pac then he needs to play a 2pac record. 2pac is originally born in NY and has a huge fan base all over the NY-tri-state area so he should at least show that type of respect to the listeners and play it because of that. Instead he replies I was never a big fan of 2pac. Its not like he's on the radio being a dj for himself. And the thing is he made that comment on the same day as his 9 year passing. That is just plain disrespectful. That guy needs to be checked seriously.

when i used to listen to big boy's neighborhood on power every morning before school, they would usually play a tupac song almost every day and k-day always plays 2pac. the beat is wack though
