The Official Fuck Ashanti Thread For Sampling Blasphemy!!

Ashanti just sampled Blasphemy and featured Jim Jones on the song and called it, "I Won't Deny It". I never heard the song but from some comments I read, I'm hearing ass or whatever. I didn't even bother.

I'm tired of all these current artists taking classic original 2Pac songs and s**tting all over it. Classic songs need to be left alone. Is the Makaveli album going to be stripped and remade before the century is over. All of the man's standout songs are becoming hits for people like Cam'ron & Jay-Z. Hail Mary, Me & My Girlfriend, Now Blasphemy. Maybe I'm overreacting but I'm pissed.

Whenever artists are thrown on a track with Pac, it's like they feel they can just sample or redo his work. From 50, Ja, Tyrese, Nas. and now Ashanti. It's more I'm even forgetting I think. I'm just sick of this.

When I finally bother to listen to the track, I better hear Pac's voice or at least a reference to him on this remake.

Its not a case of them being featured on Pac's songs and then thinking they have a right to use his work or vocals on their songs, it's a case of Amaru paying artists to feature on Tupac albums by offering them something in return; the further mutilation of Tupac's music on their own projects.

I do agree that this is the only good thing that ever comes out of it, sadly a lot of times the new artist takes all credit for the song and if peole haven't already known the facts before hearing the new version of the song they might not realize (ever) that the song is a remake.

Pac also sampled alot of other artists.
Even most after his death so he didnt had any influance on that, but still, i mean changes, until the end of time, letter to my unborn.

Dont think im saying its alright to cover pacs music, but it happens all the time in todays music. Most hits are covered hits from the past, and the worst thing is most ppl dont even know the original track, so all credit goes to the uncreative artist.

I was pissed of when ppl said, damn Jay-z is good with that new track 03 bonnie and clyde, but the same with for example: no doubt - its my life.

I havent heard this blasphemy cover yet, but if they didnt copy the entire track, than they are doing exactly the same thing as pac did with sampling other artists.

but i don't agree with everything else you said. the "mutilation" of pac's music is gonna happen. remember that tupac's starting to become old now. in the early nineties they would sample from the seventies and eighties on records right? well it's the 00s now and they are sampling from the 90s and the 80s. in ten years, maybe someone will sample something from the album better dayz. point is that this is how the music industry works. half of every pop song is a re-do of an older song. this is not gonna run tupac's legacy any more to the ground than anything else. you're basically blowing this out of proportions. if anything, i'll grant ya that it annoys me that some people will listen to this track and like it. that's it.

Damn, you know I wish I listened to the song to know the sample for sure because the song is called "I Won't Deny It". But at the same time, I read that it sampled Blasphemy.

I just don't like the fact that people are making hit singles off of Pac songs that Pac didn't even get to make as singles.

She sung a hook for the wack ass version of Pac's Life, which didn't even go anywhere and now she's sampling his stuff. It's like she used a dead man to get a hit single. And I'm sure Amaru probably gave her that sample for free in exchange for the Pac's Life hook.

ashanti has even less talent than even him so that just makes it that much worse. Plus yes it made him mainstream and that cover wasn't even that bad.
