Let's see. In spectator mode you watch players play anyway they want to play. They do any tricks they want to do. They pass the ball to anybody they want to pass to. They might not even be able to see the open man and miss him.

All you do is sit there in front of your television screen and bite your nails, hoping your team do well because you're not in control of the players.

So why exactly do you watch football?

You're acting as though managers do absolutely nothing in football. If that was the case, it wouldn't matter who was in charge of a team as long as they had good players.

Why manage a team? lol

I loved Champman and I've been playing since championship manager 1, I bought it by mistake. A bootleg down the carboot sale for my Amiga 500. It didn't even have the real players name, but you could play with all the players from the 60's. I chose Man Utd and had Best, Charlton etc. I never really got into it. It wasn't until CM2 that I became a huge fan, we used to play non-stop for 30 hours. No sleep or anything. Wicked.

I quite like 2006, but like someone said, I don't feel it like champman. Probably because I'm older.

Anyways, I started off unemployed, got offered a job by Bury, saved them from the drop, but got sacked for having a big mouth, even though my media handling is at 20. Got offered a new job at worcester. Sold 20 players and bought 16 in. Now I'm second in the conference North, halfway through the second season. Gonna start an online game with my mates at the weekend.


P.S - I got Kevin Campbell at Worcester, cost me 1k, he's my star man.

The first C.M I had was with players like Bryan Robson (37 years old) & Eric Cantona with Man Utd and Chris Waddle with Sheff. Wednesday I believe it was season '92-'93. Ever since then I became addicted to it.. Football Manager '05 was nice, but the C.M(domark) games were just more addictive

Did a season with Chelsea winning FA Cup, Champions League, Premiership and becoming England manager and only had 2 for ambition but on my Blackpool game where i finished mid-table i have 6 already. Think you might need to start with smaller club to get it up.

No, ambition of a manager or player has something to do with how much ambition some1 has, to move to another (bigger) club. Or how much ambition a player has to play in the first team.

Yeah i read about that on the actual forum its a rule of sumthing that Teams Cant sign Brazilian who are under 18 they can only go to Portuagal!!!

Im using Torquay Atm in the English Second Division as i used them in Fifa 2006....So how much is PE5 better than Fifa i might have to get it for the xbox :thumb:

I also Thought Ambition was trying to sign good players and to improve the team cause thats what bumped my ambition up was declaring interest in big players!!!

I've not played the new FIFA, but I've heard good things about it. Pro Evo 5 is pretty awesome, though.

Thanks beReal. As a tribute, I'll post a screenshot I'm sure you'll enjoy. Drew a nice easy team in the German cup, so I put out my second-string side.

Of that starting 11, only Tuncay would normally play (on the left wing, usually).

Something like that, depending on who's fit. I rotate Tuncay, Schweinsteiger and Deisler and usually use Karimi and Ze Roberto as subs.

I brought in three players pre-season; Fabio Aurelio, Sanli Tuncay and Jaap Stam.

As you can see, I'm not setting the league on fire. Two draws in two games against teams I should have beaten.
