Yes I used to watch the OC, and then I realized that the only reason I liked it was because when I would watch it, it felt like anything in the show actually mattered, like this unrealistic shit was really happening in California and I was somehow involved, like it was my life. So now that I've realized that this thinking was detrimental to me, I don't watch it anymore.
It's a soap-opera for teenagers. It's fake, and although I liked "feeling" what they were going through, and actually developing a fondness for the characters, after seeing the show for a while, it's just a roller-coaster. They give you cliff hangers and all that and it's playing with your senses. I like the love stories and all that, and the characters were interesting. But does the story ever end? I could read a novel, and get to the end. But the OC keeps going up and down, and if it wanted to, it could go on forever like that. That's not what the characters deserve. So in that way, it's a soap-opera. Up, down, up, down...
