well they did when it came out...
it was a single and a video, and there was a lot of media buzz around it because a song like that hadn't been made, and the media wanted to see if 2pac was representing his own father in the song. i remember seeing a newspaper article about it in usa today, which would have been a rare thing for that time.

for most of these songs it's kind of stupid to call them underrated since they're 10 years old or more. i don't bump the same shit as i did back then so i'm not discounting the dopeness of the song - i'm just beyond it to a degree. now if someone flat out called papaz song wack, then we'd have an interesting thread.

The beat is trash. 2Pac doesn't rap over those type of beats. I'd imagine the original would be better.

Perfect production, GREAT LYRICS, and judging from the rest of the albun AHEAD OF ITS TIME. The lyrics sound DR period, but its obviously not.

I'd say any romantic song by Pac, especially Death Row era since out of that catalogue people only seem to pay attention to the street tracks. People talk about Ambitionz az a Ridah and All Bout U and 2 of Amerikaz Wanted, but rarely about Heaven Ain't Hard 2 Find. People talk about Hail Mary and Toss It Up and Me and My Girlfriend, but rarely about Just like Daddy. People talk about Don't Sleep and First 2 Bomb and whatever OGs, but rarely about Just Watchin or Tongue Kissin. You get the picture.
