college students do live on small budgets, but one small difference is that a lot of them have rich(ish) families. so, when push came to shove, they'd have a source of money for help. One of my roommates lived broke as fuck while working part time yet his grandparents were millionaires. But they didn't give him shit, cause that's how you teach the value of hard work and discipline in the states, yo!

Quite frankly, I see the grandparents as stingy folk and illustrate how money can prevail over family. Either they weren't really millionaires or the grandparents did not associate with that branch of the family.

I would die if I failed an exam with a sub-40 score. To have a teacher email me about how much I sucked....well..I wouldn't show my face in that class again. Good thing it was the final and the semester was over, but next year...god damn.
