The differences between Americans and the rest of us

Apart from the obvious spelling differences like color and favor, what are the major differences between us?

I can think of a few clear cut ones;

Americans take a vacation instead of a holiday

We use aluminium, Americans use Aluminum

We wear Jewellery, Americans wear Jewelry

We turn on the tap, Americans turn on the Faucet

In America crisps are called chips and chips are called fries!

So basically we still do the same things just we each have different names for it, nothing new there then.

Another one I just thought of, is the word "rubber". In Britain, "a rubber" would usually mean an erase, which would use to erase, or "rub out", pencil". In America, "a rubber" would refer to a condom.

I remember a story about an Englishman staying in an American hotel. He was filling in some kind of form in pencil and made a mistake, so he asked the guy behind the desk for a rubber. The man behind the desk looked a little uneasy and said, "How many do you need?" to which the Brit replied, "Just the one; I don't make that many mistakes".

Hmm... over here we use Rubber as well (for both meanings). Maybe we're being steadily Americanized

arabs are "arab"
indians are just indians
and persians are iranians and thus closer to arabs than "orientals" or "asians".

there are "asian" or "oriental" looking people living in russian, which resemble the Mongol people.
