The differences between Americans and the rest of us

'Aye' means 'Yes', or 'Ya' haven't you watched Braveheart? the Scots use it, but now its in my daily vocabulary.

Bwuahahahahaha :D Does anybody else find this hilarious?

DPG iz all I C said:
In America a "wifebeater" is a tank top thing, while in Scotland its the name for "stella artois"

lmao, you better take it easy on the Stella then.

In America the babies wear diapers, here in England they wear nappies.

In America all biscuits are labelled cookies, here cookies are just cookies and we have kit kats, taxi's, custard creams and bourbon's for example.

Which would make it still a very poor survey considering the population of America.

Btw, just to clear it up, the reason I laughed at your earlier post is because I am Scottish :D

Rich boy??

I wish!!

Granted, I'm probably better off than you - what with you being lumbered with kids & all - but I definitely can't afford to go flying across half the world.

Although if I was to commit some kind of atrocity then I suppose I could just take out a reasonable loan, fly over there & then suicide bomb you & the bank will never see their money again!! Well, not from me anyway :D

I've heard Americans say 'Damn British', 'Damn Irish' and so on.. I just find this ridiculous since most Americans have British or Irish descendence

Hmm, I suppose but the French & Dutch had reasonable stakes over there at one point too.

And of course, then there's those of African & Mexican descent.

I get your point though. Still laughing at you from earlier :D

Hey, I respect the Scots. And their language.

Yeah, but it was funny how you asked me if I'd seen Braveheart & then 'informed' me that Scots use certain words lmao.

My point to Duke was: you're not Scottish nor Irish so why are you using 'aye/ay', unless you are getting it from Ali G.

I am troubled by the fact that there are still some people who deny the fact that Indians are Asian. Months ago I was posting in the 'Asian Hotties' thread (lol,) so I put up some pictures of Aishwarya Rai, a famous native Indian actress, who is also Miss World 1994. Minutes later, a guy posted 'she's not Asian, she's indian,' and I completely lost it due to the fact that the person was plain ignorant.

We have police, you have constables.

We wear pants; you wear trousers.

You use the words jolly, horrid, and frightfully; we never do.

No, the police are called police, or old bill. Never constables. ????

And who uses them words. The Queen maybe, but I don't hear them.

Just ask him "if they're not asian, then what continent are they from?"

See what his dumb answer would be.
