Film & TV Superman Returns review

Rent it. I want to punch the director and the writer in the face for the crap they presented as superman. if anyone else has seen it, give your opinions, because i dont want to start listing spoilers until the stuff is common knowledge

Visually i liked it, and the things he did to "save" somebody but uhm, the story line was absolutely weak to me ; /

Im just use to Christopher Reeve as Superman. not this bullshit no name actor they got now. I do wanna see Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor though he looks like he could play the part well. Not knocking Gene Hackman his role will always be legendary.

How was Kevin's part in the movie?

Kevin spacey was the best part of the flick. he had the charactor down and even had much game through the film that was perfect for lex.

ill say this - the suit the new guy wore was fruity and lame, as well as the new guy. the only superman that mattered was chris reeve - period.

thing is in batman were used to different actors for the same role. and yeah gotta admit the batman begins storyline was well structured too.

Good movie. Nicely ties in with I & II, III & IV are terrible anyways. Maroon color is dope.

yes i caught the reference to gotham..it was nice. batman begins was WAY better than this flick and illustrated how super batman is; this movie straight made superman look like a pussy.

It wasn't as good as other comic movies, and I fucking hate comic movies. Like someone else said, the best part of the movie was Kevin Spacey, for example that scene where he lights his cigar and tells the girl "yes" when she asks if billions of people will die.

Yeah, Kevin Spacey is about the only main thing that keeps the movie going. at first i couldn't picture him playing Lex Luthor, but he has the character down and adds an element that not even Hackman could bring to the role. but other than that, the movie wasn't all that good.

***SPOILER ALERT*** did they have to make it so damn obvious that Lois Lane's kid is Superman's? the second i saw the kid, my first thought was, "Superman's the father" and it spoiled that part of the movie

I knew that too from the second I saw him. what got me even more pissed was the fact that after the kid does his thing with the piano I was expecting more from him, but nothing ever happened, even though they made it seem like he would. I was surprised how people around me were in shock when it was finally revealed that it was his son.

this is the foundation for my hate of this movie. first of all, superman having a kid ruins my image of who he is.

this means that superman hit it and quit it and flew away. lois went on and passed off her pregnancy onto richard, which is a straight slut move because rich thought it was all him all the time!!

when superman found out (duh) that the boy was his, he gives him a speech and flys away...sounds like a dead beat disneyland father to me if i ever heard of one.

when i grew up superman stood up for what was right. he fought nazi's on tv and never told a lie. so then within who the charactor is, he is able to cover up the fact that some other man is really raising his son? i'd expect that from like the punisher or wolverine or some other tough guy - but superman?

also all the jesus comparisons in the movie got to be alil much. they had refered to superman as the 'only begotton son' from krypton that was the 'worlds savior'...
his free fall from space was as if he was on a cross
lex luther stabbed him in the side with that kryptonite knife..his wound was in similar fashion of jesus side wound

and the end when supes was in the hospital, he disappears to secretly reveal he was alive to lois..
jesus returned and the first one he saw was mary..

plus there really wasnt a plot. so bryan singer can go to hell or gimme back my money
