As reported earlier, the assets of Death Row Records, which included some of the master recordings of Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg, was sold to Canadian owned WIDEawake Entertainment Group for $18 million.

After Marion “Suge” Knight declared bankruptcy in 2006, he was forced to forfeit all of his assets down to his drawers.

This past weekend, Marion Knight’s assets were sold in a public auction that took place in Fullerton, California via KMC (Kohn-Megibow Company).

In the following statement made by Knight’s attorney – who arranged the auction to take place - it explains why Knight was charged the heavy fee:

“The representation of the Trustee in this case has been particularly complex due to the individuals involved in the company’s operations and intentionally illicit ‘gangster-style’ business operations of the debtor (Knight).”

Knight also went as far as hiding his “Malibu (California) home, a secret storage locker in Michigan that contained a ‘treasure trove’ of unreleased songs and records of hidden bank accounts – stashed in a southern California warehouse.”
