Welcome to the Streethop Text League. This is where you will battle an opponent in an effort to earn points on the way to becoming the STL Champion.
RULES
Line Limit:
The line limit for each battle should be agreed upon and can be no fewer than 8 lines and no more than 18. By lines i mean a single line, not a bar which consists of two lines. 8-18 is the limit. If there is no agreement between lines, the 2nd poster must match the amount of lines the 1st poster has written.
Voting:
In an attempt to make the league run smoothly the STL promotes and supports the idea of voting for every open battle, this could be as few as 1 or as many as 10. It won't be required, but if it appears that certain individuals aren't voting, there will be consequences later on. If there are no open battles in the forum, then you obviously don't need to vote.
Freeposting/Swaying:
All that should be in a single battle thread are the verses from both participants and the occasional 'upping' of the thread. If there is any complaining about votes, extra explaining or anything that is clogging the thread, it will be deleted, and if it continues after that, you will be deducted votes.
Votes/Winning:
In order to win a battle it will be the first to 3 votes. 3 votes to 0 votes is a Knock Out. 3-1/3-2 is a TKO. Knock Outs will give you more points.
The Point System:
The goal of any person battling here should be to ultimately win the STL Championship. In order to become the champion you must reach a total of 18 points. To gain points you must win battles.
A Knock Out Win= 6 Points
A TKO Win= 3 Points
A Knock Out Loss= -2 Points
A TKO Loss= -1 Point.
There will be no ties.
Being Champion:
Once an individual reaches 18 points he is the STL Champion. At this point he can no longer battle until someone reaches 18 points and is therefore named the #1 Contender. If the Champion wins, the #1 Contender will be dropped to 0 Points. If the Champion loses, he will be dropped to 0 points and the #1 Contender will be the new Champion. There can be multiple #1 Contenders, and battles will be in a 'first come first serve' fashion. Whoever made it there first, will get the first shot at the title.
Battles:
You can battle anyone, it is up to you who you battle, i nor any other mod has any input on that situation. It all deals with calling people out and being called out. However, the Champion and the current #1 Contender cannot be called out as they will be placed in the title match.
