I hated Episode I, and I thought while Episode II was alright, it was a huge let down.
So I went to see Episode III last night with little hope, but as I sat there waiting at 20 minutes to midnight my anticipation was building.
Then it started.
From the get go, this movie is fucking awesome. At the start there are a few MINOR cutesy issues I didnt like, like droid dialogue. But from then on out, this is the adult Star Wars I always wished Lucas would make.
Episode III was fucking fantastic. I cant explain it. You know whats going to happen, Anakin becomes Vader, but the way it happens is just, so awesome and believable. This is the first movie my heart raced in during the last fight. While an action/sci fi movie, this movie more than anyone in the whole 6 Episode saga deals with human emotion; from Anakin’s motives to the heart break of those around him, it was brilliantly paced and portrayed. Hayden the guy who played Anakin has really stepped up his acting, and Lucas has kept the cheesy dialogue to a minimum although a couple cheesy “I love you” type lines are thrown in, but in my opinion they illustrate that Anakin really is still just a kid.
Awesome awesome awesome.
This movie was fucking awesome, and anyone thats read my movie comments before would know Im a harsh critic. Hated Ep 1, didnt like Ep 2, more recently almost hated Kingdom of Heaven, but Return of the Sith is so fucking good. Best movie of the trilogy, maybe better than Empire Strikes Back even.
Lucas stepped up his game, I just wish he'd go back and re do Ep1 and 2 now.
