Also regarding Puffs post, I'm assuming that 2 of the 4 villains will be major, the third minor, and the 4th, possibly Venom, will be just a glimpse into the 4th film. Which will be fucking vicious, because that's the way it should be, we need an entrie movie with just Venom as the villain.
Agreed. They should introduce the stoy line in this movie and then put the focus on Venom in the next one. If they sacrifice any of the Venom story I'm going to be pissed.

Venom = my favorite superhero/villain

Well it's obvious that they casted Topher Grace (Eric from That 70's Show) to look more like Eddie Brock from the new Ultimate Spider-Man comics. If you played the Ultimate Spider-Man video game, you can see what I'm talking about. I also assume Venom will have a simular look. I also read I think it was Avi Arrad (producer of all the Marvel films) that said they're saving the big white spider on the chest for Venom.

I can't wait to see this. Definately #1 on my must see list in 2007.
i agree too, i think venom will come in towards the end of the film and make people waiting for the next one. i think sandman might get taken out early in the film. if you notice in the trailor they have green goblin fighting black spidey so i think he will stay through out most of the film.

i cant remember who the other villian is going to be

^ the lizard? scorpion?

i know they introduced dr. connors in the second one to open up the opportunity for the lizard, but that might be a story line for another movie

actually....

what about carnage?

how bout this for the 4th movie:

spider-man battles venom, only to have to team up to battle carnage

it would convey the anti-hero characteristic normally attributed to venom

i forgot that man-wolf as a possiable villian in the next movie too. John Jameson was a character in the 2nd film

i could see carnage in the 4th film or even the 5th. that would be bad ass. i would love to see what he looks like on screen

Actually Eddie brock was a reporter who printed a story about some criminal which made him the talk of the town only for spiderman to prove him wrong and make everybody label him a fraud. This is when he and the symbiot needed eachothers solidarity because the symbiot also had its own grudge against spidey. Symbiot was pure evil while at first the comics made eddie brock the bad guy it later became Eddie brock being inflicted within himself which made for some kickass comics.
It's all coming back to me now.. I remember this from the spiderman cartoon..(not the 70's one)..

I remember an episode where Spiderman, Venom and Carnidge team up with each other..it was a pretty good one imo..

What happends to the symbiot in the end btw? and what happends to eddie brock and cassidy?

Don't forget, Eddie Brock was a chump to begin with (at least in the comics).

He didn't get ripped until after the incident where Spider-man proved him wrong, after which he took up weight lifting to relieve stress.

After Spider-man gets rid of the symbiote, it tries to get back with him in a church tower, but the sound from the bells weaken it and it crawls off to supposedly die. Thats when it combines with Eddie Brock, who in one story line is at the church praying for God's forgiveness because he's going to kill himself (had cancer). The symbiote reverses the effects of the cancer though, so they're both saved by it.

Eventually, Broc k sells it to some rich guy, who gives it to his son, but his son is a pussy so the symbiote leaves him, and the son dies. After Brock hears this, he slits his wrists in an alley, and you're left to believe he dies. The symbiote actually bonds with the Scorpion after that, and this is where the comic is now. It's going to be revealed though that Eddie didn't die, and Venom will return.

Did some reading up the other day :p

Well, I'm sure the story of how Spider-Man gets the symboite to begin with is surely going to be changed.

In the comics he got it while fighting in the Secret Wars and took it back to earth.

In the movie It's most likely going to be going with the 90's cartoon idea of John Jamison and his space crew coming back with it, their ship crashing in NY, Spider-Man saving the day and the Symboite becoming attached to him.

Yeah, the comic book story line would take too long and their would be too many actors to get together for it.

Plus, I don't think they've casted a Captain America yet.

its interesting that that scene (green goblin or hobgoblin) is in the trailer, since according to what Sam Raimi says here http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/720/720537p1.html Harry Osborn will not be seen as either character in the movie  i never followed the comic as much as some of you here, Harry Osborn does eventually become the hobgoblin, doesn't he? i could easily be wrong about that, but thats why the scene and what Raimi says is so confusing to me lol

PS anyone remember the SNES/Genesis game Maximum Carnage? that game was dope :thumb:

Yeah, I found that out yesterday, it's interesting because Harry does become Green Goblin II in the comics, so if he's not the second GG or Hobgoblin, then I guess he's just Harry on a Goblin glider.
