sorry but Jay-Z destroyed Nas

Is Hitemup a good diss? :wondering:

Passion wise and ther anger in the track standout, but I don't think lyrically the track is a good diss track.

I think that Hitemup is a good diss not because of its lyrical content (though it packs a few awesome punchlines) but because it's funny and hardcore.
Also, most people recognize "I fucked your bitch you fat motherfucker".

Many Yukmouth disses are in a similar fashion (Game over and Game over 2) and I find them heavily underrated. Imo Game over 2 >>> Hitemup. The video was a masterpeace and I just can't picture crushing anyone harder than Yuk did there. That's why I can't believe how people in The Source could say that The Game won that beef. I bet that they didn't even see Yuk's videos.

When I heard Ether I felt like I did when I heard hit em up the first time.

Yep. Another song that made me feel that way was when Eminem did "The Sauce". He absolutely crushed Benzino into little pieces on that song. That's one of the hardest diss tracks ever IMO, up there with "Hit Em Up", "Ether" and LL Cool J's "The Ripper Strikes Back" where he fucked up Canibus.

Pac and biggie wasn't a lyrical beef so your point is moot.

Jay-z and Nas was a lyrical beef. They were each claiming to be the "best". Ether > Takeover any day of the week.

What the fuckwit?

How is my point moot? A diss record is a diss record, HitEmup is a good angry diss record, but lyrically its not that good, Ether is good, however people look over the fact that Takeover is also fucking good. Ether wouldn't be regarded so highly if Takeover was wack as fuck.

Ether had many fucking wack lyrics. But people are hyping it to be one of the best. For example.

Saying Beans is better than Jay
Saying Jayz has no moustache
Gay-z
Cockafella
Ugly
Big Lips

Shall we go on the playground together? I will call you ugly and say you have big lips. FUCKING ETHER! I WIN I WIN.

^^^ nothing here.. all bullshit.. Eminem murdered you on your own shit... So fucking what? Eminem is a great rapper, so how is that a negative that he may have outshined Jigga? makes no sense.. Is it bad to be outshone by Eminem? whats the point of that "diss"

so in summary, Ether boils down to:

* comments about Jay-Z's appearance
* Eminem having a hotter verse
* dick sucking lips
* homo jokes like "Gay-Z"
* biting biggie

there's nothing else.

Super Ugly and the Takeover SHITS all over Ether.

Actually, Eminem murdered Jay on his Eminems own shit, Isn't 'Renegade' an Eminem track he did first with Royce? But because of the fall out between the two, Eminem gave it to Jay?

I was talking about you doubting hit em up. Pac vs Biggie wasn't a lyrical beef. It was a street beef, a personal thing. Hit em up wasn't meant to murder Biggie on wax. It was meant to intimidate Biggie and his record label, which i think it did.

Jay-z vs Nas was more of a rivalry thing. Two competitors going at it to see who's the better rapper. It wasn't a street beef. I think Nas proved he can spit better than Jay, thats why I say Ether > Takeover. Yes, Jay is a better business man and has more mainstream appeal but Nas is still lyrically better, imo. Nobody is saying takeover is wack, were just saying ether is better.

Yeah, what's the diss track Em did about limp biscuit and whitey ford? I need to hear that again.

Anyways the reasons why tracks like Hit Em' Up, Ether and The Ripper Strikes Back are considered ultimate diss tracks is cause they're just right in your face.

Cmon, does anyone actually want to listen to a monotone Lloyd Banks throw out diss tracks? You can spit some of the meanest and wittiest lines ever, if the emotion or intensity is not backing up people won't bother.

Hit Em Up - I think the way Pac spit it was just viscious. Simple rhymes and disses that cut.

The Ripper Strikes Back - Good rhymes, and probably one of the best lines I've heard "99 Percent of your fans don't exist" but hearing LL just going nuts on the mic made people open their ears and cop his album. There's a reason why he thanked Canibus in his album booklet that year.

Ether - Once again, simple rhymes, maybe not as intense as Pac but the way the track was put together made it look pretty damn hard. "Fuck Jay-Z" is one hell of a way to start something and it worked for Pac. Also, Nas did have some good lines in there like it or not.
