^ There have been plenty of original work. And so what if it's a remake? This King Kong is going to shit on the previous King Kong movies.

Another remake that's about to be released is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, even though people are saying that this one isn't really a remake but it's another adaptation of the book. Gene Wilder wasn't too happy with the idea and he said the new movie is just another money making scheme. He's probably right but so what? What's wrong with making money? Especially when people are willing to pay? I'd go see the new Chocolate Factory movie because it's Tim Burton with Johnny Depp, it's gonna be different from the 1971 version. Same with King Kong, I'd go see it because it's going to be a new experience.

The new Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory film isn't a remake, it's an adaptation of the book. It's supposedly closer to the book, too.

^^^ Sur thats all true. There is nothing wrong with remakes. Its jus not creative. But thers no way they'll be better then the firsts. U may think the new king kong will be better, cuz of new technology and shit like that, but this movie will never be known as "the King Kong movie" It wont go down in history as a great movie, not like the first one. Sur itll prolly be awrite, but no where near as good as the original. And heres a list of jus a few remakes (of movies, books, tv shows, or comic books) in the recent past or cumin out soon:

Batman Begins is (imo) way better than the previous films. The 1989 version was more like 'JOKER and batman'. Penguin sucked in Returns but Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman wasn't too bad. Then Joel Schumacher put a new twist into it with his neon lights and what not, it was way too cartoony for me (yes I know it's a comic book). Do I even need to mention the nipples and Arnold Schwarzenegger?

When I say Scarface, you automatically think of Al Pacino but the movie is a remake of the 1932 version. I've only seen the old one once but I'd pick Al Pacino anyday.

^^^ thas a good point, but i think the original batman was the best of the series. The second one was good, twisted, but good, and michelle pfeiffer was an amazing cat women (way better then Halle Berry). The 3rd one was good as well, Carrey was rilly good. and the newest one was very good. Christian Bail is probably the best batman next to Adam West lol. And like u sed thers no point in even mentioning the Arnold one. But i still think the first was the best
