Its not just about the phone but the types of plans you can get with it, thats why Sidekicks and iPhones rock because of the unlimited data plans and stuff like that. Samsung and HTC (who?) dont have the power or pull to get that kind of attention from mobile carriers and thus will not be as successful or worthwhile.

You can get the Samsung on Sprint, they have unlimited data plans. You can get unlimited data on any phone.

There are much better phones in a line up than all mentioned in this thread.

My vote would go to:
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 - Full phone specifications

833h stand by, autofocus camera and 30fps vga video cam, built in keyboard, 512mb ram.. it has everything. It's like an advanced sidekick.

If you want Samsung I'd go for Omnia:

Also Sharp 906sh looks amazing with hd-tv on the go.
Also it's "budget" version sx862 looks quite sweet if it comes in a decent price:

Yeah well here the carriers for the Iphone are Rogers and Fido and guess what? They don't have unlimited plans for the Iphone. They have over expensive plans.

As for the Samsung Instinct, it's the direct competitor to the Iphone (Sprint vs At&t, in Canada Rogers/Fido vs Bell). And considering I am with Bell and that they don't have chips in their cells, I am stuck with the cell phones they can provide me hence why I'll get the Samsung Instinct. But I just also have to say that even if I could get the Iphone, I wouldn't.
