Rihanna's dad told her not to do a Britney. The "Umbrella" singer's father, Ronald Fenty, shares his lowest point and how his famous daughter helped him got up.
Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was just nine years old when she caught her father taking drugs. According to Ronald, Rihanna ran for her mother and they both cried.
"I turned and looked her in the eye and instantly came back down," he says of the haunting experience he had.
"I saw her run for her mother and then they both started to cry. It was the lowest point; life just stopped and I realized what a fool I had been."
Her father is now sober and is using his past with drugs to advise his daughter to never try drugs.
"I sat her down and said, 'Rihanna, don't make the mistakes I did... 'I begged her not to do a Britney Spears or a Lindsay Lohan."
"She won't go down the path I went down; she's too smart."
