i would have loved to hear some beats made by dre.. dre kicks ass at producing imo... omg that album would have rocked if he made some of it

Guess what, you can hear some beats made by Dre. Buy any of the following albums or singles and you will hear Dre beats:

The Chronic
Straight Outta Compton
Doggystyle
Can't C Me
California Love
Friday
Keep Their Heads Ringing
The Slim Shady LP
The Marshall Mathers LP
Say What You Say
Encore

You can start with those. :thumb: :p

I mean, Chuck D or the like, would've massacred that beat, truly killed it & put the American Government to shame. As it is, worldwide politics just isn't Eminem's domain.

Ehhh...see, I'm not willing to say that Mosh is indicative that politics isn't his domain. I think his domain is life's circumstances. Yeah, he's rich, with lots of connections and power, he has a lot of things at his disposal, but get real folks, he's still a fucking human being. He has people he loves and cares about.

Did he drop the ball on Encore? *him hawing around* I would say he fell short, I'm not so sure I'd say he "dropped the ball". Half the CD was pretty fucking great actually, but half of it was complete and utter shit. Let's see if The Funeral comes out like he said it would at the end of this year.

Keep Ya Head Up is one of his BIGGEST pop songs.

I know it did well but, like I say, the essence of the song is such that I cannot put it in the same category as most 'pop' songs. There are exceptions to be made & this is one of them. And believe me when I say, it is the message of the song rather than 2Pac that makes me feel this way about it.

As for the double standard.

On one hand you've got an artist (Artist A) whose songs have a 'pop' beat, pretty throwaway lyrics & songs which were always intended to be a 'pop' song.

On the other hand you've got an artist (Artist B) whose songs have insightful lyrics, passion, were never meant to be 'pop' songs & either, 1. somehow became a hit, or 2. had a 'pop' beat put under the lyrics after the artist was dead.

Number 1. is songs such as Keep Ya Head Up & Dear Mama
Number 2. is, namely, Changes.

I don't think those which adhere to number 1 should be bracketed with number 2s (yes, pun is intended), nor should they be bracketed with the 'pop' songs of Artist A.

I suppose this is a double standard, but it is one I agree with.

I understand he's human being - when did I say he wasn't? - but that doesn't qualify him to make solid political statements on wax.

I don't care for Encore, we weren't talking about that. I was saying I felt Mosh was a poor attempt at being political & that Eminem showed when it comes to worldwide politics he couldn't cut it. Sure, everyone has family & people they love, but does everyone udnerstand the intricate home policies, financial policies, foreign policies, security policies, trade policies etc. of a nation? No.

To be able to put forth a strong effort he would have to read up like Chuck D, Paris & numerous others have. Like we agreed earlier, his talent wasn't put to optimum effect, & I don't think he was able to cover up his inadequacy.
