Film & TV Rangers Demolish Celtic!

There are valid points and I'm sure 99% of football fans would agree with me. If Rangers or Celtic were in the Premiership they would be another average mid table team. There are plenty of teams in the Premiership who earn a higher Gross than Rangers or Celtic per year yet they still aren't challenging for the title. I highly doubt Rangers or Celtic will ever breach the financial boundaries of the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, and without that they ain't challenging for shit.
The recently published list of last years club incomes:

1 (1) Man Utd £171.5m
2 (4) Real Madrid £156.3m
3 (3) AC Milan £147.2m
4 (10) Chelsea £143.7m
5 (2) Juventus £142.4m
6 (7) Arsenal £115m
7 (13) Barcelona £110.1m
8 (6) Inter Milan £110.3m
9 (5) Bayern Munich £110.1m
10 (8) Liverpool £92.3m
11 (10) Newcastle £90.5m
12 (11) Roma £72m
13 (18) Celtic £69m
14 (16) Tottenham £66.3m
15 (15) Lazio £65.8m
16 (-) Man City £61.9m
17 (14) Schalke £60.5m
18 (-) Marseille £58.3m
19 (-) Rangers £57.1m
20 (-) Aston Villa £55.9m

So at the moment five clubs in England earn more than Celtic. We make £69m with no fancy Sky deal, and a lot less investment than we would receive if we were playing in the Premiership. The gap would close extremely quickly.

Rangers & Celtic could challenge for the Premiership title.

I wonder if 2Pax knows just how little TV money & sponsorship money the Old Firm get.

Championship sides were near the same level at one point.

You dont seem to relise that rangers an celtic have a massive fanbase all over the world, clubs like newcastle, spurs, villa, everton, dont have that! alex ferguson just said last week rangers an celtic are 2 of the biggest clubs in the uk, not that anyone here never knew that anyway.

And a fan base makes your team win games how?

Sky wouldn't give them nowhere near as that much, and lets say for arguments sake they did, how would that make Celtic or Rangers 'Title Challengers', the only way there going to be title challengers is if another Roman Abromavich comes along.

1. Sky gives clubs money depending on how often they're on TV over a season. Celtic and Rangers are a big draw and hence would on around as many times as the current big 4 or 5 in England. Also they'd never be off Prem Plus as this is a subscription based channel and they know millions of OF fans would pay to watch their team. So they would be bringing in as much TV money as the Man Utd', Chelsea's etc.

2. Chance are that another Roman Abramovich WOULD come along, did you miss my use of the word 'investment' earlier? The reason the clubs are so big anyway is because people pour their money into them. I guarentee this would sky rocket should they ever join the Premiership as it's a more lucrative.

I know it hurts you to think of the big bad bullies from Scotland coming down and taking over you're league, but believe me that is what would happen, so I'd start preparing your deluded ass for it.

No but it brings the cash in, if they were in the premiership there would be way more interest in both celtic an rangers, more cash means better players.
You said their fan base was already 'huge', so why havn't they used the cash from that to buy players? The only way I can see what you say happening is if they increase their stadium capacity by around 50,000 which I doubt very much will happen any time soon.

Parkhead can already hold 60,000 making it one of the largest stadiums in Britain. As you well know Celtic is one of the best supported clubs in the British Isles with huge numbers of fans both in Ireland and mainland Britain. Increasing it's capacity to 110,000 would achieve what exactly? It's already one of the richest clubs in Europe, with the added bonus television money would bring, Celtic could become serious title contenders within 5 years.

Now your just talking nonsense, in scotland i think they only get 3 or 4 million per season, in the premiership they get 45 million, thats the difference, rangers have blew 70 million on players in the last 6 years, why would rangers have to increase there capacity to 100 thousand to compete

If a scottish team were in the PL and got a european place, who are they representing? England or Scotland?
If Cardiff City achieved a place in Europe who would they be representing? "Offically" perhaps England but in reality they'd be representing the country of their origin.

Well officially - since it would be an English allocated place - England. Unofficially though I for one don't like the idea of Celtic representing England very much. Perhaps my Rangers supporting friends feel differently. :p

1.I doubt Rangers or Celtic would get as much tv showings as Man U or Arsenal for example as Sky can only show so many games, and even if they did, each teams would then recieve less money as as of now its basically 25% Man U 25% Chelsea 25% Arsenal, if Celtic and Rangers joined it would have to go down to say 15% Each, and Im being very optimistic here.

2. If thats the case then why hasn't an investor from either Celtic or Rangers poured money into the club so they can dominate the spl.

3 Big Bad bullies :D lol, the day Rangers or Celtic lift the Champ League trophy I'll accept that statement without question.

Because realistically thats the only way there going to funds, I mean 70 mill in 6 years, thats pennies compared to Man U' transfer amounts. Yes the premiership teams do recieve more ticket funds but they also have to pay out more.

1. Even if it was 15%, it would be a hell of alot more than either team makes from TV now.

2. They don't need to, they dominate the SPL anyway. Like I said before the Premiership is a more lucrative market for investors.

3. I must have missed Arsenal and Chelsea's fantastic European exploits. Remember who the first British team were to win the European Cup? I'm sure you do.

1. Yes, but I doubt that would ever happen.

2. No one team dominate it it's between the both of them.

3. Be realistic Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U have a far greater chance of winning it than Celtic or Rangers do.
