Quincy Jones is to receive an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Washington this June, it was announced on March 21.
The legendary producer who is best known for his work on Michael Jackson's Thriller and the hit single "We Are The World", will be presented with the degree at the University's commencement ceremony on June 14, where Jones is slated to speak.
The University of Washington's governing body voted on March 20 to present the honor to Jones, reports the Associated Press.
Jones is also known for his work as a composer who has arranged for renowned musicians including Ray Charles.
