How come almost all tha DR era songs have no bass. Only a few songs do have bass. Watcha Gonna Do (OG) & Hail Mary are tha only ones comin to my head. Now, if you look at 2N, S4MN, Thug Life, & MATW you can see that there are songs on there with bass. Look at AEOM, basically no bass at all. Bomb First & Hail Mary are tha only songs with bass on 7DT, and if you listen to your unreleased and original songs you have you can tell they don't have bass either.

Did Pac just not like bass on DR or what?

:woah:

Of course there is bass in tha songs :horny:, i'm saying tha bass is WEAK. All you hear is a kick and a little bit of bass, but tha bass is played so high you can't even feel it.

Why did Pac go from alotta bass to NOTHING :fury:?

Ratha Be Ya Nigga is another song with pretty good bass BTW.

:woah:

maybe the other producers the answer 2 your question ... but i think there is bass in DR era songs ... 4 example:
OGCJM, Toss It Up, Fuckin' With The Wrong Nigga (this was released later but he recorded it in DR era i think), etc ...

Pz

I hate when people turn up the bass on their stereo. There's a lot more to music than bass.

And a good stereo won't show up bass.

I have a very high quality stereo in my house, I turn the bass down. It sounds a whole lot better.

Same here. Since I turned the bass down, both me and my neighbours have been more than pleased;) :thumb:

I think there's enough bass in the songs. The bassline doesn't always have to be like the one in "violent".

Tha only thing that makes Violent very bassy is because they have tha bassline very loud. Tha bassline doesn't have to be loud to have good bass. All you have to do is play low bass notes and then you have a very bassy song, but Pac never did that, all his basslines are played at high notes. I would pick a song like Papa'z Song over Violent any day, because Papa'z Song has very low bass in it.

WTF how could you not hear the bass ever 7 day theory song has bass, you cant hear the bass on life of an outlaw? come on, at one point the beat breaks and the guitar quits making the bass pretty clear. i can play all the 7 day theory bass lines on my bass. the one in bomb first is kinda disguised but still there. me and my girlfriend is another easly hearable bassline. but i think bass should be more felt than heard. i dont mean that it should be big heavy bumping bass i think it should be the opposite. the bass should just be a compliment to the song and completing it instead of being the main element which was done real well on 7 day theory.

That's what i'm saying. I want tha bass to be felt, but with Pac's songs you can't feel any bass. Bomb First & Hail Mary both have great bass, tha rest of tha songs don't have as good of bass as tha first 2.

i dont think you understood me, as far as noticable bass they all do, if the bass is popping out and fucking obvious then it probably doesnt coordinate with the drums as well as it should. anywyas what i meant by felt was not felt like bumping at your chest like retards who turn there bass up mega high in there car, i mean felt as in if you listend to the song then listened to it without the bass youd have a feeling somethign was different but cant really place it. the bass should jsut compliment the drums.

???
there are some great basslines on DR-era songs, with production that is much better overall than pre-DR songs (IMHO). A song with an instrumental that is mostly just a bassline (like in 'Violent') is very boring to me when compared to the complexities of the production in his DR-era songs. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy much of the production of 90-95 2pac but the stuff in 95 and 96 is more polished.
The boom-boom-boom is cool but when that's all there is, it gets old quick.

why not some boom-boom-boom with all the extra shit on top of it?
i guess it all depends on what you like and don't like...

maybe you just need some better subs :)

anyways, there are loads of DR-era songs that have great basslines:

troublesome '96
ambitionz az a ridah
friends
blasphemy
thug nigga
got my mind made up
2 of amerikaz most wanted
heartz of men
can't c me
holla at me
wonder why they call u bitch
when we ride
ain't hard 2 find
heaven ain't hard 2 find
let'z fight
thug in me
runnin' on e
fuckin' with the wrong nigga
good life
this life i lead
all out
tattoo tearz
street life
don't go 2 sleep
first 2 bomb
life of an outlaw
um dumpin'
thug luv
fair xchange
world wide mob figgaz
time after time
late night
secretz of war
u don't have to worry
made niggaz
letter 2 the president
why u turn on me

i'm sure that are a lot i've missed, but to say that 2pac "didn't like bass when he was on DR" is insane

Tha basslines may be great, but you cannot feel tha bass in Pac's songs at all. Pac didn't have tha bass played low in alot of songs. Watcha Gonna Do OG is an xample of a song with very good bass alright.

If you listen to songs Pac appeared on like 4 Tha Hustlaz, Million Dollar Spot, & Gotta Survive, you will tell that those songs have great bass.

I listened to all this stuff on my cousin's stereo system and he payed over $600 for his subs, so he has an xcellent system, believe that.
