Montreal's a great city to live in. People are nice, alot of money goes through this city believe it or not, drinking age 18, great education to get here, very culturally diverse also. I noticed you live in Poland at the moment, well theres a pretty big Polish community here. The only thing is if you can withstand the fucking cold.

Man, it's like -30 D celcius here right now, last night it was -25, I swear I was sure my nuts became icecubes. :(

Its the same as in Poland during winter :thumb:
So u think that there is a chance for me to move to Canada after high school or university?

How do you plan to move to the US? It's not a mere plane ticket away. For me, as an immigrant, the process took more than 2 years to get here.

Preach, lol, my dad was a citizen in the US, but I was born outside of the states and it took me a very long time to be recognized as a US citizen and have the same "rights and privileges" as the next person.

Anyways,on topic, it just depends on where you go. Obviously you can't generalize an entire country that you have never even visited. Especially the States. I mean Chicago is VERY different from Alabama, which is different from Maine, which is different from Texas.

The East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, and the South all have their own cultures and dialects. Then again, every state and individual city within that state has it's own lifestyle. Every city has it's "safer" areas. But that's anywhere, not just the US.

And most times even the so-called "ghettos" aren't all the bad. It's been my experience that if you mind your own business and don't make yourself a target people will leave you alone. I've hung out in some of the more "dangerous" areas of Chicago with no problem and i've seen people get beat up in the burbs.

You can't generalize, visit the places for yourself and come to your own conclusion. But know that it's hard to get citizenship in the states.

you should know what it is like in germany ;-)

IN GERMANY IS NOTHING.(I LIVE THERE SINCE 1997) GERMAN FAGGOTS ARE JUST SCARED OF AMIGRANTS AND SHIT THEIR PANTS WHEN THEY SEE THEM.NOTHING MORE.THERE ARE SOME WANNA-BE`S BUT ITS SAFE.

ABOUT MY COUNTRY (GEORGIA) YOU KNOW MY ANSWER!JACKERS, ASSASSINS, ROBBERS.STREET-FIGHTS, CAR-JACKERS..ALL THAT SHIT.PEOPLE OUT THERE STRICLY LIVIN BY THA STREET-CODE.CARRYING KNIVES.ROBBING STORES AND ALL THAT.

Every country has 'rough' and 'safe' areas as well as 'rich' and 'poor' areas, I wouldn't suggest asking over the internet for advice on a matter like this because your only going to recieve opinionated answers, you need to make up your own mind.

Last time I went to Harlem their was a tour bus stuck in traffic, and these lil kids were throwin bottles and rocks at it yellin "Welcome to Harlem mufukas"! lol

yeah i know. Does Canada require green card or anything?

I don't know if you need a green card (i believe those are just American things, not sure though). It will take years to get accepted into Canada, so start trying early. Alberta is a booming province with the oil sands recently, people all around Canada are moving there just for jobs and they still need more people. If you like $20+ an hour jobs then plan to move there. The new Conservative party said they will either lower immigration payment (it use to be 900 bucks to get in) or get rid of it altogether so more immigrants will come in.

You need a Visa and probably have to fill out the Temporary Residence Applications, then after 4 years you could become a citizen.

I am also planning on migrating to Canada too, I'm filling out paper work for that.:thumb:

thanks very muchfor all yall replies. So moving to Canada ain't that hard? I think ill try to move there after school plus i couldn't leave my mother here so ill take her probly wit me. I ain't got any contacts wit my family,i just have to take my mom :D Oh so it's cool. I'd really love to move there...

masta i see you're looking through pink glasses. you're polish, plus u got no education, just high school diploma (that doesn't count). polish people can't even participate in green card lottery and taht says a lot (there are way too much uneducated polish immigrants in usa, england and other countries). don't even know about canada, but it might be possible that polish couldn't participate in similar immigration programs as greend card in states.
i fully understand you, because i'm from lithuania, we've been in the same situation, but now looks like things are getting better where i live (well, there always will be people who don't see anything good)
trust me, moving to usa or canada without any education wouldn't solve your problems and automatically create a better living vision. better finish university where u live and try later to move to other country.
and about living conditions. i lived in usa for half a year in a cheap, not so good apartment complex. at first i was amazed how quiet there was, how everyone was polite, generous and good willing. of course, i've seen police raids, guys living next door selling drugs..but comparing to my country it was like a paradise. i could walk any time in a day and most of people would greet with me. and in comparison, in lithuania, when i was living in a dorm (at a time of my studies), there was no security, everybody could walk in the dorm any time, i got robbed threatened with a knife under my throat with 3 guys against me alone..all pcs, cell phones and other valuable things were taken out, i got duct taped... know, i drive an average 10 years old car :) even this oldie can be jacked any time.. remember when i bought it, car was without alarm, first night i left it outside, it got door lock broken... everytime i gotta take with me my car cd receiver, cause junkies would bust a window and grab it...such is live, but i'm not complaining, you just get used to it and everything seems to be normal.
all i know that to live in states is much more safer, even in not so safe districts (in american's point of view)
i don't even wanna compare how much you and me are earning, cuz it will make me wanna cry :(

yeah i think u feel me :thumb: ppl living in states usually don't know how it is here. Yeah that's the option i think about mostly (finishing university n then moving there) :thumb:
p.s. Poland does participate in green card lottery n many ppl that I know move to states. America gives away 50000 green cards to Polish ppl per year.

^^^ no, u got it wrong. last time i checked information i'm sure poland was listed in the countries that cannot participate in green card lottery.
this is what i found in U.S. department of state web page:

"For DV-2007, natives of the following countries are not eligible to apply because they sent a total of more than 50,000 immigrants to the U.S. in the previous five years:

CANADA, CHINA (mainland-born), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, EL SALVADOR, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PHILIPPINES, POLAND, RUSSIA, SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and VIETNAM. Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible."
so, there's no way that polish people could participate in green card lottery, as i've said earlier. maybe some years ago it was possible but not this year and in the future.
wanna check:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1318.html

btw there are lots of fake site about green card, which require money, but on the contrary it's totally free.

damn. Thanks for the info. I'm sure that last year or max 2 years ago many ppl moved to america coz they won green cards in this lotery. Its fucked up :/
