I'm running CS4....but not on a Mac. I assume CS4 is available for Mac's though.....but there might not be a crack yet in which case you'll have to go with CS3.

I think I patched it so it's not a 30 day trial version but I'm not sure. How can I check?

Check all the "About" screens etc. If it's not giving you any messages saying that it's a trial and that you need to register it, you should be fine.

i remember when i downloaded CS3, i had a trial version executable file and the instructions in the notes said to alter the ".exe" file extension to ".xx" in order to confuse the 30-day trial into becoming a fully functioning peice of software.

more like freeware, haha!

i then uninstalled it because i preferred the simplicity of photoshop elements. i cant see myself using advanced photo editing software unless i have a lot of free time on my hands.

How do you crop a part of a picture, but like free-hand style? I can only crop rectangles and when I do that, the white part still stays in the final picture. I want it gone.

I guess is what you are asking about. The first 3 are for selecting/cutting. I guess thats what you mean as i cant see a purpose for freehand cropping, as cropping the the 4th one i mention.
