Neptunes front-man Pharrell Williams has aligned himself with Bionic Yarn, a textile company based in New York, to develop environmentally sustainable fabrics.

Recently, the fabric has been used to make Pharrell’s Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream clothing lines.

“I’m so interested with the technology behind this,” The Neptunes rapper stated. “I am also very concerned with the environment and want to make a conscious effort to make it better.”

According to the research conducted by Bionic Yarn, over 60 million plastic bottles are stored in landfills on a daily basis.

The company insists that they can use the material to make an average piece of luggage or even seven pairs of average jeans.

“We want to provide quality fabrics that also happen to be sustainable,” Pharrell said via a statement. "We want to do everything from high end luggage, to high end denim, to university caps and gowns to Parks Department uniforms. It’s a plus that the fabric brings environmentalism to a whole new level.”
